Here's the answer:

Hmm this kind of depends on your resources. ^^ If you have Photoshop and access to Image Ready it's fairly simple as long as you have an mpeg or avi copy of whatever you want to make into the movie icon. Basically you just open the file in ImageReady and it gives you the option of the whole file, part of the file or just certain timed frames. In this case you'd choose part of the file and highlight just the section you want to use as your icon.

Once you have it highlighted ok the action and it would open up the action sequence as individual frames. Now you get to go through and change sizes and remove any access frames and such to make it workable. Well that's how I do it anyway. LoL

My biggest problem is making animated ones that could actually work as icons since I tend to like long sequences. ^^

For ImageReady, I learned from someone that you should use .mov files. They are the only ones that fit and actually work in ImageReady. I've made many animations from ImageReady using .mov files.
