Glad to hear that you are gaining control of diabetes. The money you are spending on your own for the care from a good doctor now will pay off in the years to come by avoiding the costs of amputation, blindness, neuropathy, heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, etc. etc. Plus there's no price on enjoying and preserving your health. Good for you. Keep it up. It's not an easy disease to manage, but it's worth it, if you can make it work.
Sounds like you have an empathic employer. That's valuable too.
