I wonder why he would put on a different voice... I like his natural, semi-nasal drawl so much more than the 'fake announcer voice' he has on... yes, that's what it sounds like, heh - did he ever consider doing voice-overs for over-dramatic movie trailers?

I am totally trying to ignore this as I want to save some surprises for when I get my actual dvd set. But it's like a worm dangling on a hook... *stops self from looking*

Well, as a bank officer, his voice works better a few steps higher and a bit more caffeinated. If I met a bank with a deeper drawl, I'd probably worry he'd get to my banking business sometime next week or the week after. So a higher more stepped voice was prolly thought desired. the character did seem to be a true money-grubber.
