alt.tv.lost has a link to the old prison film video that Michael did. Just scroll down to "Old video of Michael Emerson." Apparently it's been posted on the Smoking Gun site.
Just FYI

I thought he'd be in it longer. Didn't have time to watch the whole thing - does he show up again after he disappears?

He comes in around 6:08.
Hahahaha~ That guy is really throwin' a fit over 50 bucks. .and it's like..what is he going to do with it anyway?!..Yer in jail dimwit! I like how the yelling can still be heard while they are making the video report. xDD My friend works as a guard at a prison..never had anybody that demanded 50 dollars and needed to be restrained though.
Oh my..Emerson is really pretty. ..and so young. x] Heh, it's obvious he's far better material than for an instructional video.

I meant, after you see him first, does he reappear elsewhere in the rest of the video?

I meant, after you see him first, does he reappear elsewhere in the rest of the video? He's in a grainy video, but he's just standing there not talking.

I thought he'd be in it longer. Didn't have time to watch the whole thing - does he show up again after he disappears? No, he's only in it a short while. But yeah, isn't amazing how pretty he was as a young lad? Again, I go back to my abiding philosophy. Things happen when they do for a reason. If he had broke onto the scene when he was that young, he would have been written off as a squirrelly pretty face, a "gay" character, if you will, and never given any more serious roles as he's now receiving. He might not have been able to really flex his acting muscle as he is now. Oh and Edith, my bad, that url doesn't work. It's a Google group. Try this link: tinyurl.com/2prgv7 and see if it works. I'm not that crazy about the group but sometimes it does provide some interesting info.

It's a training video, so it's gonna be cheesy. But don't knock training videos. John Cleese once said that's a niche he found very useful. Odd, but he didn't dismiss it.

I think Michael's training did good him at Shakespearian school...he has grown as the actor due to persistent work above himself..Compare Michael of 1992 and Michael of 2006-2007 ...

Thanks for the response. mythicfeline, how did you come upon this?? What a cool find indeed. (Though I'd rather see the one where the policema/en are talking him out of committing suicide.) Hmm, greenleaf - you and the people who posted the video both comment on how much his acting skills have improved. ... he kinda seemed the same to me. I mean, his eyes were a lot buggier. Whereas now, he VARIES the bugging... ;D I'd be interested if you could point out the ways his acting lacked compared to now.

"You don't want to do that. You don't even want to say that."
This is wonderful, thank for posting the link!
The man is gorgeous, both then and now.
I don't see a big change in his acting. He seemed to have some of the same mannerisms that he does watching him on LOST.
Seriously, back then he looked very similar to every guy I have ever fallen for in real life. Terribly pretty.
Did anyone notice that his eyes were not blue in the video? They were like a very light brown. Nice.

Yes, the man was really a gorgeous young guy back then. He was 38. Did anybody notice how much better he was in his acting than many of the others? The inmate was great, however.
