As I feared. Shatner's name appears. Honestly, I still think ME should be in there before Henry Ian Cusick. No offense. I like him and his character, I just hink ME does a better job. We have a week before we know. (July 19)

Even if we weren't all crazily obsessed with Ben i think we would still want to him to get an Emmy seeign as his acting is miles above everyoen elses on Lost. Also he is the one who puts the most complexity and background into his character even though he actually nkows very little about the character as he has not been fully explored yet. we can also agree that he gewts better every episode. He definatley deserves an Emmy over Henry Ian Cusick.

Terrifying Ben. Heh.
I really am hoping for Michael. He is such a terrific actor--the best in the industry in my opinion.

I'm always terrified when I see you've posted in this thread, bobdoc I'm dreading finding out whether he gets a nom or not. Though... I don't hold out a ton of hope. If you can't get nominated as practically being Henry Gale, how can 'Ben' compete? (In terms of grabbing the eye. It's not a 'showy' role like Jack's. But - Desmond wasn't 'eyecatching' either, though he did have a lot of bumps to navigate emotionally. I don't know. Don't listen to me ;D )

I think last year they still had the rule that you had to be in 5 or less episodes to qualify for a guest actor nomination, and Michael was in more than 5, so he didn't qualifyHe wasn't an official cast member that year either, so I don't know if he submitted for the supporting actor catagory. So those are the excuses they probably had for not putting him anywhere. Probably unlikely they'll have any info on supporting actors before nomination time- and like I said on the Jack thread, when they announce nominations on E!, they never announce supporting catagories for any awards show, so we'll have to search all around the Web after 8:30 AM for the full nomination list[unless the E correspondents actually mention if any Lost supporting actors got in afterwards]

Well, scratch my predictions that they were done with annoucing top 10 lists- I just found out Elizabeth was completly snubbed, that Tom O Neil from the Envelope is already planning to announce the full list of comedy supporting actresses tomorrow- so perhaps he might have news about Michael's catagory soon enough after all. Though if they could snub Elizabeth, my fears are even greater.

Yeah, I've been having this feeling. I know that's not scientific, but I just get this feeling that it won't go the way we want it to. I want to remain open. We could be pleasantly surprised.

William Shatner's name was officially added to the top 10 list, so there are 7 open slots left to go.

William Shatner's name was officially added to the top 10 list, so there are 7 open slots left to go. Why in the world's name is Shatner even being considered? He plays a caricature of himself in Boston Legal. Gosh, he must give them a lot of money.

Awards in Hollywood are a lot like awards everywhere else. A mix of luck, talent and politics.

In this thread at goldderbyforums.latimes.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1106078764/m/53210546/p/21 a couple of the posters made some predictions based on what they heard from Tom O Neil and an Emmy judge. Here's one from someone called "24fanatic" One posted called "Cederick" said- And one called "moviefan617" said- These are only assumptions- I don't consider anything official until Tom O Neil confirms it. But from this chatter, the chances of Michael at least getting to the top 10 might have improved- and if this is true, there'd be 4 Lost men in this catagory, just as there were 4 Grey's Anatomy actresses in their catagory.

There are 5 nomination slots, yes? It would crack me up if four of them were from Lost. However, I think it's looking like Masi Oka of Heroes; William Shatner, Boston Legal; Michael Imperioloi or somebody from the Sopranos. If a Grey's Anatomy actor doesn't get then it's down to two Lost actors, my money would be on ME and T O'Q. IF GA actor is in (and why do I get the feeling a TR Knight would be a sympathy vote?), then it's really gonna be a tough one. They might go with T O'Q cuz ME already has one Emmy. And really it is a tough call between those two. Either one is very deserving. But of course, I'd prefer it be ME. No offense, T O'Q and fans.
And if Shatner is in, I be shocked if he didn't get it. Not right IMO; he has many already and I don't think he's all that good in that role, but, you know …
