I've heard people mentioned him a couple of times in Season 2 commentaries, but I'm pretty sure he never did one himself. And if you want to confirm it, he mentions at about the 1 hour mark that he was doing commentary for the episode, and mentions that the DVD has a bit of a longer shot of the image of Jacob

No, he did not do any commentary in S. 2 DVD. The only commentary he did was in Straight Jacket.

He sounded a bit more "professional" and "smooth." But his comments on CNI are always more conversational and done with ease, and always very intelligent and . And I liked some of the background based on cut scene. Very cool. I can't wait for the S3 DVD to get that commentary. And will I get the laborious 3-hr recording of "All the King's Men." Oh, man, I'm sitting on my hands. THREE HOURS. owwwh. eek. Very nice interview.

Great interview! When he was talking to the phone caller who wanted to be cast on the show as Jacob, he said the role had already been cast. It's someone who's already worked on LOST but we've never heard their voice and might never hear it.
Was he joking or being serious?

Was he joking or being serious? He also said he wasn't sure if the character would ever be seen, that it could be a role in the shadows or non verbal or something.

EDIT: Oops. I just realized that what I meant by commentary was not what anybody else meant by it. Sorry. He did a little explanation about his role. He did not do the lengthy commentary that goes on with the actual screening of the story.

Correction, 20 hours, and about 50 minutes. And it's an older recording, 2005. But WOW! He's got a veritable portfolio of accents in his c.v. Let's see, he does Scottish, London, Okie ("Of Mice and Men"), and here he takes on the Louisiana accent and a lot of character inflections.
I mean "The Laramie Project" western accent problem aside, the guy must have had lots of vocal training, or this is just one of his favorite things. Remarkable.

At least he was probably spared having to scream in the mike and wave around his arms like Sean Penn in the most recent adaptation of that book.
