Dark UFO found a blurb on US Weekly magazine with a brief article about Lost, previewing the new season. Michael contributes a few quotes, so that makes it of interest to us. Here's what it, and he, said.

Maybe it's just that he's not supposed to leave the island (yes, I'm trying to convince myself that Ben will be safe and sane)... I'm more interested on the 'unlikely alliances': does it mean Bocke?

I think there will never be scenes with Ben off the Island because he would never dream of leaving the Island. That doesn't mean, he'll die. I like the thought of Walt being back on the Island - he could become a really asset for those who want to defend the Island against the intruders with his abilities. Or he could be working for the intruders - either way, this should get intersting

OK, folks, let's revisit this whole thing. Just because Ben has not had a flashforward may not mean that he is dead. It could mean a few things:
1. Ben decided to stay on the island and go back underground and fight the new threat or the new DHARMA as he has done before.
2. He did get off the island, but his story is not yet told.
Now, I am also torn about my view on Jack. I have been very active member of the "Kill Jack" fan club. Here's my dilemma: Jack may end up being Ben’s salvation. After all, he wants to return to the island. Maybe by returning, he will save Ben. Oh, wouldn’t that be an irony to end all ironies?
Here’s another take: Remember the funeral parlor scene? There were some studies done by some bloggers that the casket was small enough that it could actually be that Ben was inside. What made us think that it wasn’t Ben is that the newspaper clipping that Jack was clutching on said that the deceased left a teenaged son. We all are jumping to the conclusion that it was Michael and the teenaged son was Walt. However, what if Karl was actually Ben’s biological son? Then it could possibly be that Ben is in the casket. And yes, we will have died after all, but his death would occur towards the end of the LOST series.
Any other ideas?

So Alex and Karl would be siblings in a situational sense but not a biological? The bigger issue, which is the one Ben is worried about because he doesn't worry over situations, is the pregnancy issue.
I think it's too early to speculate about who's in the coffin. Might be someone we haven't even met but Jack comes to really trust and care about. I think it's all going to hinge on the new alliances. I think some of the Losties will go to one side and the other to the other and I got my hunches. Think of who among them as Dharma connections and who has island connections. I don't see Jack and Ben working together, at least not at first. Maybe later. But Locke and Ben might decide to set aside their differences for now. Later when the threat disappears, watch out, provided they're both alive, of course.

But why would Ben be so abusive towards Karl if Karl is his biological son? Does he not know?
And the whole Karl/Alex thing, I don't think it's that objectionable - I mean, look at Aragorn and Arwen in The Lord of the Rings.

I don't see Jack and Ben working together, at least not at first. Maybe later. But Locke and Ben might decide to set aside their differences for now. Later when the threat disappears, watch out, provided they're both alive, of course. That seems a pretty obvious way to go. Locke needs someone with Ben's knowledge and skills if he's really going to defend the island from these people, and I don't think Ben would easily let a personal feud interfere with the greater picture- I'd like to think that's one of the key differences between him and Jack. And even Jack would probably get tired of beating Ben to death and let him play his little games on them. I'm sure he'd think, in his little brain, that letting Locke take him away would be his way of punishing Locke for defying him. Not in the minds of all the Bocke people it isn't....
