The word is "regret," that Jack realized that Ben was right all along, and feels bad that he didn't believe him at the time.

"I remember what it's like to be staying at the hotel and picked up by the van every morning, so I try to get together with people or show them around town a little bit and make their lives easier."

This is a kind of snide response to the interview, from blog.meevee.com/my_weblog/2008/01/michael-emerson.html

According to BuddyTV, the man behind the creepy, subtle villainy of Ben on "Lost" was every bit as surprised as viewers by the twist ending to season three. Emerson said, "It was left out of everybody's script except Matt [Fox] and Evangeline [Lilly], so I didn't know what they were doing until it was broadcast. I didn't see those scenes and had no idea."

Looks like the "Lost" folks weren't kidding when they said no spoilers. Michael does think the new flash-forwards are "really grown up" but he disagrees with the assessment that Ben is the one in the coffin at the end of season 3. He's got a good point there, I can't even see Mr. Jack "I-Cry-Over-Long-Distance-Commercials" Shepherd weeping over Ben kicking the bucket.

Michael does have a few tidbits about season 4, but it seems a little bit like he's getting his info by watching the teaser promos just like we are. "There's a new threat, and the threat comes from off island," he said. "So that's a whole new set of circumstances. There's a lot more moving around. People go more places in this season." Yeah, thanks Mike. "People go more places?" Man, Abrams is giving us nothing.
