Michael in each his interview speaks about Carrie... But, apparently, it at all does not help her in her actor's career.. I ask myself - why?

I think Carrie's still doing well for herself. She has steady work in the theater, the occasional TV guest spot, and the occasional movie role. This was Michael's pattern of work as well before he got on Lost, and it worked pretty well for him before he became a bigger star.

I think Carrie is a star in her own right. Shes guested on a huge list of TV shows and been in a slew of movies. Straight-Jacket is one of my favorite movies because of her character. I think some don't see her on the same scope as Michael because he is on LOST which is huge. I do agree that it would be great to see her featured in more roles.

Actually, both Michael and Carrie are what is known to be as character actors. These type of actors are always employed and have almost a steady income. Usually, they don't become international stars, unless one of them gets lucky enough to get a part in a huge megahit movie or TV show. Michael was lucky in that respect: He got a part in LOST, and the rest is history. I am quite sure that both Carrie and Michael are loving their lives, and, once LOST is gone, Michael will return to his roots: THEATRE with occasional independent movies. That's what this couple love to do. The movie is their income provider. The theatre is their passion.

At least somebody is able to work in the Preston–Emerson household. I just realized that without vocalization, my statement that I just quoted is ambiguous. I meant to say that because of the writer's strike, and, because Carrie is not attached to any shows, she is able to go out and work. Michael, on the other hand, has a very long unwanted vacation. The statement can also be read as if I am saying that finally Carrie is employed and Michael is not. That was not my intent. I was just pointing out that Carrie is able to pursue her passion and, unfortunately for Michael, he has to keep himself busy in other ways. Maybe that is the reason he is giving so many interviews.

I got your intent, but thanks anyway for the explanation. Never hurts. I just concluded that if they're living in New York and they seem to be able to take part in it fully that they get enough work to bat away the financial worries. I think they had it pegged in terms of balancing what they wanted with what they needed and prolly would be continuing to do that had Michael's part in "Lost" not worked out. But then I know I would never heard of either of them. I suspect that's OK with them, but I for one am glad to have found out about them. It's nice to know more such folks in the acting profession so much attention is given to just a lucky — crazy — few.

Gah, the writers strike sucks, doesn't it? There was a time when the Broadway stage hands were striking at the same time. I was most displeased as I missed seeing Hank Azaria in a play Yay for Carrie being the lead character though in this reading though The play sounds like a lot of fun!

That's what this couple love to do. The movie is their income provider. The theatre is their passion. Edith, your words have a lot of truth. BUT! Really, Michael (and Carrie too) pass castings for serials and movies only to have money? They do not want to be necessary and popular? If Michael wanted to acting only at theatre, he had an opportunity to remain in a province forever.. I think, in any case Michael sooner or later would find his glory because he is very talented.. But Carrie is known only to Michael's fans and only because she is his wife. I saw her in several roles.. She's a bad actress (this my personal opinion). Sorry, Michael! Sadly, in our country, true artists and intellectuals are not appreciated. We appreciate looks and bad behavior. Most of our famous people are people that I, personally, would not want to be in the same room with. Take for instance, Paris Hilton, a no-talent famous person. She became famous by an "accidental leak" of her sex tape with her boyfriend. Thus, Michael, whom I consider a true artist, as well as an intellectual, had it been not for LOST, would never have been appreciated. You said that “he had an opportunity to remain in a province forever.” Unfortunately, if he were to continue in a province forever, he would never be able to pay his rent. Hence, movies and TV series are the way to go. Enough money is made by doing them that, if the artist is frugal, he or she can live off the money and then do what she or he loves to do. I respect your opinion regarding Carrie’s acting. It's your opinion and you are entitled to it. But you should know that she is a graduate of the Julliard School, which is a top-notch school for those who are considering performing arts as a career. To be accepted to Julliard is an honor. I am sure that Carrie has some talent. She would not have been accepted to the school if she was not talented. None of us have seen her act in legitimate theater. She might knock our socks off. LOL.

Probably, I should not write my opinion, I did not want to offend Carrie or Michael.. She is very dear to Michael and she means too much in his life .. Probably, in real her best roles will be ahead...
I want for Michael a role in the "big movie".. Because I never can watch him at theatre.
