Richard was leading the way to the blac rock, Zoe, Luke and Hurley close behind, Sophie not much further back and Mel and Ben even further back.
They had been walking hours, and Richard insisted they all had a rest.
"Zoe, is it okay if I talk to you about something?" Hurley said to her gently.
"Sure Hurley, go ahead." Zoe smiled brightly.
"I, er... can we go somewhere more private?" He asked, his face going red from where he was blushing.
"Hurley, is everything all right?" Zoe asked, she was still smiling, but she watched him concernedly.
"Yeah - yeah it is. But I really need to tell you something." Hurley replied nervously. Zoe semi frowned.
"Okay Hurley, lets go." She replied, leading him to one side a little way into the jungle. They found a spot to sit down. Two rocks large enough for both of them to sit on, facing each other in the opposite direction. Zoe leant forward, as did Hurley. Hurley grabbed her hand.
"I know you only just lost Charlie, so, I know perhaps what I am about to tell you, nothing and progress from it." Hurley began awkwardly, avoiding looking Zoe in her eyes, Zoe holding a confused expression, not overly sure of what Hurley was getting at. "And after Libby - I thought I could never feel what I felt for someone for anyone one else ever again."
"What are you talking about Hurley?" Zoe asked kindly.
"What I am trying to say -- what I -- I like you." Hurley replied, his face going redder, he looked embarrased. Zoe's eyes softened, she was touched.
"Oh Hurley - that's so sweet." She replied. "I --"
BANG!
Zoe fell into Hurley's arms, Hurley looked at her, terrified and confused, tears flooded down his face before he knew what was going on.
"Zoe?" He asked panically. He got up, and laid her on her front on the jungle floor. She had a bullet wound through her chest. She was bleeding heavily, and blood began to splutter down her chin from her mouth. Hurley briefly noticed the bullet on the ground where it had peirced right through her body.
"No - no, no, no no!" Hurley yelled desperatley. With the remaing of her energy, Zoe spoke, squeezing Hurley's hand.
"Hurley." She rasped, coughing loudly. "Call them Charlie and Abbie..."
"What? No! You call them that, you are going to get through this, I promise!" Hurley replied desperately, but Zoe's head then swung to the side, resting on the jungle floor, her body limp and motionless.
"No, no, you can't do this to me!" Hurley screamed, Luke and Richard were the first to the scene after hearing Hurley's frantic yells, but it was too late, there was nothing that could be done.
