Will someone please tell me why so many people in that poll are fanatics about a villain from a BBC series about Robin Hood, however?

I'm gonna take a guess and say that this guy's fanbase is full of those OMG SOOOO HOOOOTTTT!!!!! drooling fangirl kind of fans. Like us, only more insane and more conventional.
I guess as much as unconventional actors like Michael have made headways in the fanworship industry, the "ultra hot beefcakes" still rule that category.
