I don't know if they'd have a cliffhanger about Ben dying at the end of the 3rd series, because that's the cliffhanger after the first 6 episodes so it'd be kind of the same? Don't know though, maybe I'm just trying to convince myself he won't die as I really don't want him to!

I can't see Michael wanting to live in Hawaii for another season so I'm afraid he is either going to sail off into the sunset in Desmond's boat or die to be the impetus for some other character's growth. Michael is alone when not filming and that can't be fun. Can't Foxy at least have him over to dinner once in a while so he's not so lonely?
It's got to be hard to be separated from his wife for so long. Maybe they could hire Carrie for the fourth season. She could be one of those survivors in the background we have never noticed but now are suddenly everywhere.
But it is just plain unfair to make Ben exit at the end of his first flashback. He needs to have at least two or how can we understand the motives of the character. He doesn't even have a story arc to finish since we know next to nothing about him. Hopefully Lost execs will make Michael an offer he can't refuse so he will return next year. Maybe 80 thou an episode and a role for Carrie.

If script writers will kill Ben, I shall not look more Lost. And me to spit on their silly riddles! The main thing that Ben remained in alive!!

I think maeve is partially right about Michael being alone much of the time. When he was living home, in NYC, he called his and Carrie's marriage a "bi-coastal" relationship since she was often in Los Angeles filming pilot episodes for possible sit coms and such.
Yes, he and Carrie have been out and about together for the Lost premiere and the recent panel interview at the Dole Cannery, but those are publicity events for which she may have cleared her schedule in order to accompany him.
That's the beauty of a 'non-mixed marriage' as Michael might say. They permit each other the space to pursue their dreams. Perhaps that makes their time together more special.
I think Mike would stay in Hawaii as long as they had a part for him. Ben is a great character and LOST is a wonderful opportunity for him.
Maybe the other actors are busy with their families and don't do the kind of socializing we imagine they might do.
Our Michael hikes and works out and no doubt has found some sort of theatre scene to occupy him on Sundays, even if it's only as a spectator.
But hey, if he has to leave LOST, that means he's back to mid-town Manhattan and the stage!! Closer to me, so it's a win win ;-)

I don't know where you got your info from, but there are lot of pix with Michael and Carrie together in Hawaii. First of all pictures can be deceiving. Second, I don't have info to get. I just have opinion and conjecture. If I had facts, I would cite my source. For the future if you see no citation in a post from me assume it is opinion. Come to think of it since I have absolutely no where to get such info from everything you will read from me will come from my own fevered little brain. I have a hard enough time trying to figure out where I am suppose to be and where my spouse presently is to worry about other people's spouses and where they are, want to be or are suppose to be. My opinion is based on interviews I have read. The only time I have seen pics of them together was during scheduled Lost events (premiers etc). My understanding is that Carrie has her own career. I must assume she is not sitting in Hawaii with Michael keeping him company unless she is not working. I'd leave my husband to fend for himself too if I was working and he is not quite as hot as hers. They probably get together whenever they can and burn up the telephone lines in between. But hey-what do I know? That is just my opinion, my understanding and my assumptions. For all I know she's turning down pilots to hold his hand.

Yeah, if Ben dies the show will be less colorful in my eyes.

I will say that it would be sad to see him die, but I think the writers of Lost realize that they would need to be able to fill in that role with someone just as dynamic. I would continue to watch if he did leave. It's a really good show that's well written. Not too many of them nowadays.

We're only a day away... And even so, some Ben spoilers: -"Ben wakes up during the surgery and I got the feeling that he is some weird genius cause he says Jack something about how much time he has left to live...it seemed pretty exact though and weird. -Tom tells Jack that Juliet and Ben "have a history" -Ben is definitely Alex's father...it is confirmed...but it isn't clear if he is her biological father or just adopted father (the biological thing wouldn't make sense unless Rosseau was really screwed up)" spoilerslost.blogspot.com/2007/02/not-in-portland-synopsis.html

I love the sound of "Ben centric".. Cool! ;D Many people had flashbacks and didn't die! Come on, let's not be so negative! *crossing fingers* For what concerns Michael&Carrie.. I've heard that they're having a hard time being together, for they have to shuttle back and forth between Hawaii and LA.. I don't think that can be a reason for leaving the show! I hope, at least.. I mean, if you are an actor, that's part of the job, isn't it? -Hugs!-
