Hello - My name is Crystal, but many people call me Grey. I've been lurking for a while, and I've spent time chatting on the chatango board above. I live in Texas.
I first saw MRE's work as part of cruel prank by my younger brother who knows I don't watch horror films, but somehow thought I would like Saw. I had no built up resistance to that kind of film and had nightmares for a while after seeing it. Months later, only one character clearly stuck out, but I had no interest in seeing any more horror so I never bothered to look up who played Zep Hindle. I love puzzles, and the character was a terrific misdirection play, but that film was horrifying.
Last January, my husband and I finally gave in and rented the first disc of the first season of "Lost" during the winter break from teaching. We even made it all the way through the end of the first disc before going out to purchase all three seasons. In a marathon television watching spree where we could only be confused with complete sloths, husband and I managed to finish watching season three just in time for season four to begin.
Early on, I really liked all the characters and was thrilled by such an ensemble way of telling an obviously well-thought story. John Locke (Terry O'Quinn's character) was slightly ahead of the other characters as my favorite right up until Jack pulled the arrow out of Henry Gale's shoulder. I made my husband rewind the scene and let me watch it again, asking, "how does he look that convincing?" along with, "Who IS that guy? Rewind that again and hand me my laptop - I have to see what else that guy has done."
I didn't search around to websites on MRE right away - I'm not much a celebrity follower. In fact, I don't know much more than the names of most of the actors I enjoy. I hate the Entertainment TV gossip shows and the grocery store checkout line rags that make money off those stories. I understand why they sell, but I'm just not a follower. Anyway, I eventually became curious enough to look up other info on MRE, and I found www.michaelemerson.net. Once I began watching the interviews, I was seriously hooked. He's seems like such a genuine and intelligent person, the type of person I'd run into at the university and enjoy chatting with, so little by little, my tiny internet steps were directed here.
So... hello.
