The big question is whether Michael authorized his name to be used.

If it's legitimate, and he did those cute drawings, Hoover is going to have a new food and water bowl

The signature does look like Michael's- and if someone faked that drawing of him in the Harry Potter glasses, it could only be someone even more crazed than us.

I'm going to guess that yes, it is for real. Noah's Wish is a legit animal rescue organization that concentrates solely on animals caught in disasters. I've read the book, "Out of Harm's Way," about the woman who established the organization, Terri Crisp. The book recounts her work rescuing animals during the Oakland fires, Hurricane Andrew. Noah's Wish was right down there in the muck with the other animal rescue groups in New Orleans in the Hurricane Katrina tragedy. She is no longer associated with Noah's Wish, but the organization continues and is trying to do good work. I hope it continues to grow and succeed. It was among the first to establish standards and procedures for disaster response and rescue. Other better-endowed and equipped groups have since come along, but they are there because Noah's Wish forged the path. I'm sure it was there in Iowa during the flooding and as we all know Cedar Rapids, Michael's birthplace, was hit hard. It's possible the group knicked his autograph, but I'm thinking not. There are a number of other celebrities contributing autographed bowls. A link to the list is here. Cesar Milan, Regis Philbin, Tippi Hedren and Virginia Madsen are ahead of Michael, but his bowl ain't doing bad either. I'm not an Ebay bidder, but I know Ebay has become a popular fund-raising outlet for charities. It would be easy for Michael to scribble something down, and someone on Noah's Wish end get it put on a bowl. These kinds of auctions are great ways to get people who don't donate to causes to get involved. Myself, I generally send my money directly to an organization I know well and know how they spend their money, so that I am assured that it will be used 100% for the organization. But I'm not above getting involved in an auction. That's how I got my painting done by a serval-caracal cat. I love it and I love the fact it was part of an effort to fund a wildcat sanctuary. Anyway enough going on about that. I hope if anyone here is bidding, they win. It would be cool if the Michael Emerson bowl was won by someone on this board.

It's past $240 now. Eeek. That's about 17 bags to 25 bags of cat food. But the purr is worth it. So is Michael.
