You guys, I'm really scared. I only saw part of it live (thank goodness for ABC's online videos), and what I did see? Juliet making light of her dislocated shoulder by saying it's happened four times already. Okay, so do you see that being part of her past life? That Juliet? I think not. It's only reasonable to assume that those are all from the Others. Ben... is going down the sinkhole for me. It started with his having Juliet branded. If I find out that his idea of coercion is dislocating people's shoulders - For one thing, Ben doesn't need to use physical cruelty; he has his mind! And heretofore he's been portrayed as flawed, yes, but not a monster. (Or if you find that too severe - ice-cold, brutal, corrupt, sick.) In the case that it's some unsanctioned action by another Other (<ha), what does that say about Ben's leadership abilities? Or he knew about it and let it happen... AGH! It was like the best character ever! And once all this comes to pass then I'll only be coming here for Michael - which, okay, that's fine, but Ben was so brilliant! And I will be SUPER bitter. Like, fire-of-a-thousand-suns bitter. Because I want to love Ben, and the writers are going to like destroy him - *tries to calm down* It's just that so much hinges on this next episode. It's also going to reveal the nature of Ben and Juliet's relationship. And I've read so much beautiful, stirring Ben/Juliet fanfic... And it's our only chance to see Michael in a romantic role... *begins twitching and convulsing*

I mean, Juliet flipped Kate with almost no force and that tells me she konws a bit about self defense. You are bound to hurt yourself training for that type of stuff. I wouldn't assume it's Ben's cruelty right off the bat. He spared her life and gave her that brand ya' know. He could have let her die.

Whoo! Anytime that I see Kate thrown to the ground is awesome!
I have a crazy theory about Juliet. I think that everything we have seen her do:
-Show Jack the cue cards -Getting branded -Being handcuffed to Kate -etc.
is all a big plan of Ben's to do something. I'm not sure what yet.
I think that he planned all of these things, especially throwing Jack and Juliet together so Jack would get attatched to her and take her back to the beach with him. I think we'll being seeing another "Other" working aginst the Losties from the inside soon enough.
I just don't see Ben letting Juliet run around loose on the island with all of that information she has. I mean, she had the freaking code to the security fence. So didn't see that one coming. I would never have guessed it would be like a normal alarm system.
pez-I'm hoping the fence had been turned off for a while!
I seriously can't wait to see next weeks episode! I need to know what happened between Ben and Juliet!

Nikki and Paulo stayed dead!! Woot! *celebrates with a nice chunk of boar* and it looks like Elizabeth Mitchell's karate classes paid off. she totally knocked Kate over...twice! go juliet! ;D sawyer's lines are just priceless! "i'm not gonna get the korean vote." LOL i like the softer side of sawyer, though as for Ben, i'm not sure...i want him to be a good guy! at the end i was thinking that the Losties should move into Othersville ;D lol

SPOILER ALERT. I don't think I give away much here, but if you haven't seen the ep, you might want to skip this posting.
K, my initial response is that Kate is totally getting worked. Juliet, Jack and Kate all got smoked/gassed. Maybe Sayid, too. We don't know. It feels like they are getting primed for something for the Others. Or they are on the blackest list you can be on (certainly NOT Jacob's list) and that's a bad place to be.
This is so totally deliberate. The Others have some plan up their striped sleeves and they are using JJK&S for their purppose. And that bit with Locke coming in to the rec room and unloading on Kate. Whoa! Like that wasn't a job either.
The only things that baffles me are the smokezilla scenes. That came off as being about Juliet, so I'm perplexed. Anyone else got any thoughts.
As for Juliet's dislocated shoulders. There is the tendency to jump to conclusions, but who's to say it wasn't Edmund? Or that there were some accidental injuries.

From the promo, I wonder how much of next week's flashback will actually involve Ben's early relationship with Juliet. The promo showed Charlie and Claire and Ethan, and the ABC synopis said Claire would be getting sick. The flashback will probably explain Juliet's role in all the experiments Ethan and the Others did on Claire and the baby, and perhaps even explain why they wanted them in the first place. Juliet's pregnant sister is supposed to be in the flashback too, so that was probably the first time they did work on pregnant women. Perhaps whatever happened with her is why Juliet and Ben broke up before the plane crashed, and then she decided she wanted to go home after seeing whatever they did to Claire later on. Either way, I wonder how much time they'd have left to show Ben and Juliet's early courtship- if that's what it really was.
