I don't think we're gonna know where they're going and why till ep 19. After Juliet's flashback, the next two eps sound like they're Others free anyway.

Not a terrible episode, I liked how Juliet put Kate in her place. But other than that, not bad. Not awesome either but it was interesting.
I do wonder if tension is going to start brewing between Sayid and Jack now that Sayid questioned why Juliet was going with them and Jack shut him down.

I don't know about anybody else, but Sayid seems to be the only one with a brain around the LOSTies camp.

I'll have to agree with Sayid being the smart one of the bunch. I think that once Jack gets back, he's going to be tired of wanting to "lead" but it's in his nature to do it so it'll happen all over again.
I'm wondering how Jack will react when Sayid takes Juliet aside to interogate her? This was on the "next week" preview.

why is locke going with them? how did he suddenly get "in" with the others? and, where is he going? i was just looking though transcripts and remember this ben: "No. There here because they want to be here. Some of them are just not ready to make a full...commitment yet. But you John...you've already made that commitment." so maybe thats y hes going?

With all the focus on the "daddy issues" that practically every single character has going on, I think Kate's the only one who really has a case of "mommy issues" as shown in this week's show. Claire might be another one considering how things with her mom ended up. The both of them have "daddy issues" in a few ways, but the "mommy issues" part seems to be more of a key to their problems. And that does make them different from about 75-80% of the other castaways.

It is kinda funny to me how Kate isn't all that popular, but Juliet's gotten a good fanbase after just arriving this year. They're both mysterious people[well, Kate was early on]and aren't standard damsels in distress- both have proven to be sneaks and often liers, both have strength, and both can fight too. Plus, with Kate's whole backstory of being on the run and robbing and conning people, that's the sort of thing that looks great on paper and should add to her intrige. Kate's whole conflict and duplicity hasn't really caught on for everyone, but Juliet's had more success with hers so far. I wonder how we've been able to warm up to Juliet more than Kate, despite their similarities. Is it because Elizabeth Mitchell's a better actress?[perhaps] Because there's still a lot of mystery to tell with Juliet? Because she's so closely tied to Ben?[probably a factor for some people here] Because she's an Other? Because the writers have done a better job constructing her so far?[which would be weird considering their poor history with introducing and sticking with new characters other than Ben and Desmond] Because Kate's back and forth with Jack and Sawyer is getting to be too much by now, and Juliet's hardly as angsty? In any way, it is something to think about when thinking of this ep, and whatever conflict they have left to come.
