OK, only three, and small but quite nice. You gotta scroll down a ways to get to them. If magazine photos from "True Blood" premiereI've had a chance to see quite a few pix from this event and I've waited it out to sort of tamp down my bias, but I have to say that Michael and Carrie totally kill on this outing. They look so sharp, individually and together. Not to say the others don't look nice, but I dunno, our fav couple have picked some classic looks and pulled out all the stops. I would have expected the major stars of this show to look the best. But ME and CP got 'em all beat this time.

Hmm... Opposite, I think they look is a little bit inappropriate bright.. especially Carrie... in fact it's not Oscar's ceremony or something similar.. Eventually it's usual party

What is going on with Alex Skarsgard's suit? Did his tailor get him a size too small or something?

ooooooh fabulous little photo of Michael!! I just love his outfit, the guy is first-class!! Is Rebecca Mader actually in the show? Odd, yes?? I don't think she's attractive one bit. EDIT: Never mind. Just read a little more closely, article says she's a guest. I really want to see this show!!!

Just read a little more closely, article says she's a guest. I really want to see this show!!! I watched the first season and now am watching the second season. In my humble opinion, it is the biggest piece of crap I have ever seen. The storyline is very shallow, full of obscenity for obscenity's sake, and full of gratuitous sex that is nearly pornographic. Frankly, if I were Carrie, I'd be ashamed to be on the show. But, if she is after fame and fortune, she found it. After all, the public loves smut. Now, I am not against sex in the movies, nor am I against cussing, as I have a sailor's mouth myself. But this show does it for the sake of doing it. If it would label itself for what it was, I would have more respect for it: pure and unadulterated pornography.

He's so classy, I wonder if he finds it a bit much as well...?

I have a friend from college that read them and thinks they are great vampire smut novels. I have S1 on Netflix and saw last night's episode of S2. Hubby of course liked the graphic nature, lol. I'm ok with it I guess. We'll see how the story pans out for me after watching S1.

As I said earlier, if they were to advertise it that it is smut, I'd be OK with it. But they advertise it as good vampire mystery. Which it is not. Once again, I am not against sex, smut, and cuss. I am against that they are advertising it as a good show. Carrie and Michael are both equally guilty in misadvertising the show.

Well, in a time of entertainment where you can get people worked up about Octomom and Jon and Kate and other people whose only contribution to society is that they did something weird or stupid. (OK, not condemning the use of fertility drugs, but really if you do that you have to ask yourself some serious questions and if you don't, I think society should if society is going to be asked to pay the bill.) So in that context, I guess "True Blood" looks like quality entertainment.
I don't like "True Blood" either. The vampire saga has so much more to contribute than blood and lust, but apparently we're not going to go there with this story. It's on HBO so that's the first clue that we're leaving the "safe TV" niche. But even "Lost" has raised comments from people I know for its violence. So we're just living in some sad times, in terms of culture and art.
I would like to think if I were an actor or writer that I might turn down any work for such a show, but if someone offered me a tidy sum of money (in the upper tens or hundreds of thousands per ep) I might be willing to hold my nose and get over it. Good thing there's no danger that I would ever be put in such a position.
And I have just been given my cat's OK to post this, FWIW. She's sitting on the back of the sofa looking over my shoulder. She seemed to be pleased when I looked back.

I've read about three of the books now and I don't think they are anywhere near as graphic. I haven't read the first book to be able to compare them but the three I've read are *very* tame for vampire novels. Course they are making up storylines for the show that are not in the books at all.

I guess it depends on people's personal experiences, whether they like or don't mind graphic shows. For me, it's not entertaining, and, reading how most of society likes that type of stuff, I feel like an outcast. And I have just been given my cat's OK to post this, FWIW. I look for quality shows that leave a little to the imagination - it's much more creative and thought-provoking that way. Sex scenes are much more sexy when they're merely implied. Even the violence on a consistently visually stunning show like 'Lost' leaves a bad taste in my mouth when it's over the top, like the big Dharmaville shoot-outs. I just don't think it's necessary.

My brother and sister-in-law were particularly appalled at the beating scenes. The Henry Gale torture scene really bothered them. And I have to say the first time I was floored that something that violent got on TV. Mind you, I don't watch a lot of TV, so I'm bit out of there regarding what goes on.

I can't help feeling like an outcast; With those "big Dharmaville shoot-outs," all of the blood on shows, films, gratuitous sex, etc., it seems obvious to me that the writers, and audiences who like horror films, a lot of violence, etc., haven't experienced any violence in their lives- that if they did, they wouldn't find those things entertaining. And to me, Hollywood doesn't seem to know that people don't always draw blood when they're hit, that your skin can just be red and raw. I feel hurt, insulted, angry, etc. that most of society finds that stuff enjoyable, as though they don't understand how terrifying, scary, etc. it really is; Sometimes, I feel as though I'm from another planet. A part of me wishes I could be like most people, and find that stuff entertaining; I've tried to, but I can't.
