K, I'm a total poll virgin. So forgive if this comes off badly.
I've been hearing a lot of chatter and calls by fans on other sites for Michael to play the Riddler in the next Batman film. What do you think?
(OK, confession: I snuck in my own preference. But I gave you a chance to swat it down it you want.)

As long as it's not campy, the route the new Batman movies have been going, I think he could pull it off. But, again, I want to see him in a light hearted comedy (NOT GAY) sick of him playing a gay guy........

I vote absolutely not on the Riddler, mostly because I imagine him in that awful green bodysuit that the 1960s television Riddler wore, and it frightens me.

I honeslty don't think he would degrade himself to wear something like that- the man has class and style and so I'm sure tight green clothing that leaves nothing to the imagination is really not really something he would go for. I think he'd make a good Riddler, however, I don't like the idea of him working woth that foul mouthed s**t Christian Bale. I'd much prefer to see him as Blofeld or something... I'm sure he could pull off an amazing S.P.E.C.T.R.E baddie... oooh and the thought of him and Daniel Craig roughing each other up is this fan girls dream especially if Daniel is in THOSE powder blue shorts *skips off to the naughty corner again*

I guess the Internet buzz is split between wanting Michael or Johnny Depp to play the Riddler. But the new Batman series is meant to be uber-realistic, and casting really big name superstars would probably go against that. So that probably makes it more likely that Christopher Nolan would cast a character actor/less widely known actor like Michael instead, assuming Nolan comes back for the third movie. But then again, any new Batman villain has to go up against the legacy of Heath Ledger's Joker, so I don't know if Michael should have that kind of pressure put upon him.

I tend to disagree with this statement................Each villain has it's own idiosyncrasies. I think the only comparison is between those that only played the joker in other movies. My opinion though.

I have to agree with this, and I must say however good Heath was, I still prefer Cesar Romero *waits to be pelted with rotten tomatoes and dragged to the gallows* although Jack Nicholson put in a blinding performance. I think each adaptation has been different enough for the actors to put their own spin on things. As long as Michael doesn't go prancing around like Jim Carey, everything will be fine

Batman the TV show was totally camp and tongue-in-cheek. Batman the movies, esp since Christian Bale took over, are very dark and serious and more in the vein of the comic books. I love all the villains in the TV show. They were just over the top. Even at my tender age I got it and just LOVED the campiness of it. Even the theme song cracks me up.
