As you might remember, I self-published my own Lost book, "Lost Episode Guide For Others" last fall. Now, I am just about ready to publish a sequel, which looks back at Season Five, and the best moments of the last five years.
The entire last book was an episode guide, but I can't fill another book with just a Season Five guide. So it is only one section of this book. In the same format of "Lost Episode Guide For Others" I break down each Season Five episode's plot, time lines, important details, questions raised, talking points, and much much more. Since Season Five was so incredibly complicated, this summation would be valuable for a Lost newcomer, as well as any confused Lost veterans.
The rest of the book is filled with a retrospective of the series' greatest hits. Since the last season is upon us, people will start ranking the show's best characters, best moments, best episodes, etc. To pay an early tribute to the show before it ends, my new book lists the 42 greatest characters from the show's first five years, the 42 greatest individual scenes, and the 42 greatest episodes. It's no accident as to how many characters, scenes and episodes I list.
The book even borrows a Season Three episode title for the title - "Lost: The Island's Greatest Hits"
I submitted my manuscript to iUniverse today, having once again made it so that they can get the book out within 45 days. So sometime before Labor Day, I am aiming for the book to be published. Then I have about five months to get the word out before the final season starts. Since it sums up the confusing Season Five in detail, and since it gives an early ranking of the best characters, scenes and episodes in show history, I hope this will do a little better than my last book, if I get the word out there.
"Lost: The Island's Greatest Hits" will be in production shortly, and be available on the iUniverse website, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and more in late August or early September.
