LOTS of us have said if it weren't for him, I think the show wouldn't have been able to maintain what it has for so long.

;D That's completely true, the show would really lack in something if Michael Emerson weren't in it. It got more exciting when he first turned up as Henry Gale, I remember saying to my sister after episode 6 (season 3) ended that if Jack killed Ben then I wasn't going to watch anymore.

That's a pure fact. Michael Emerson gave the role only as guest part, he would played only a couple episodes, and you know what I think about ? He became one of mainly characters in the show. That shows us how's LOST incredible, because every single season is very different. I know I might be not objective, because of delighted acting of him, but when he doesn't showed up yet in LOST, I saw him first time in Saw - really short part, but very distinct for me just like in "One of them" [2x14] ... It's not coincidence, it's pure talent, because the way of his acting is immensely convincing ...
Get to the point : I was never interested about "hot" guys in the movies, I hate when some people start staring on the TV and than, they get frenzy about someone (in negative meaning). The matter is talent and ME is a living proof of that.

 Well said!!! I couldn't have said it better. M,E is extremely talented he is totally believable in his roles that I forget he's acting. And he's just soooooo CUTE too! ;D

Totally true!!! Lost is good, but for me, the interest is the character of Ben...and our cute Michael, of course!!!

;D I really think I probably wouldn't enjoy watching lost if Ben wasn't in it. And I REALLY HATE when they have episodes where he's not even in them and you have to wait another week to see him which feels like an eternity.

I got into Lost from the start, and hadn't even heard of Michael before he came on- and didn't really know much about him until I came here in the middle of S3. So I would have been stuck with Lost even without Ben- but not to the extent I am right now. Maybe not even to the extent where I would write two books to sum it up.

I also have been with it since season 1, I actually started watching coz I heard Dominic Monaghan was in it and I was really into the Lord of the rings at the time. At first I just thought it was a show about surviving after a plane crash and that was it but then I read about all the weird and strange things that make up the show and I was hooked from the start. But when Michael Emerson came into it I found myself becoming almost obsessed with it, Michael's character just took the show to a completely new level and made it more exciting and more enjoyable and interesting to watch.  |

I also have been with it since season 1, I actually started watching coz I heard Dominic Monaghan Same here! Charlie was my favorite one, until Ben's showed up. I found similar traits which I have too, rock music, guitar, hopelessness and the low self-esteem ...But since 2x14 everything has changed  and it's great puzzle for me ... Then I started looking for other productions with him. That was my first time when I was so amazed about someone |

Yes I like Charlie too but not nearly as much as Ben. I like Jack as well, I keep seeing him in an advert and he looks so sweet. Also there is Kate and Sawyer in perfume adverts and Kate again in a make up advert, I wish Ben was in one too. ;D
