People are predicting Lithgow. Never saw the ep, but they say he was phenomenal. I'm just surprised he got in nommed. It looks to me like he's riding coach class on the celebrity train. Someone in H-wood has discovered him and he's on the list, as they say. Who knows when this ride stops, and he has to get off for someone else, but I'm loving it for as long as it lasts.

Anybody knows his chances to win?? I know he's competing with "Dr. Douggie houser" (LOL sorry I don't know the actor's name, Patric Neil something), John Lithgow who I love! William Hurt I think and....?? What are his chances to win? The Golden Globe TV races don't get as much attention as the Emmys - especially since the Globes have movie categories as well. So I don't really know what the expectations are, who's the favorite, etc. "Dr. Doogie Houser" would probably be the popular favorite- although Neil Patrick Harris didn't even win the Emmy in a year he hosted and was favored in. Lithgow has all the recent hot buzz since his turn on "Dexter" just ended - and I can tell you we have a lot to worry about there. He is technically a guest star on that show, but there's no guest star category in the Globes, so he went here - which worries me that he could challenge Michael at the Emmys too. Hurt and Jeremy Piven are there for star power only, I hope. Given Michael's Emmy win, and the final buildup to S6, he should still be one of the favorites- but Harris and Lithgow make it a three-man race.

I think Michael has a good chance, John Lithgow is the only one that worries me.

Thanks for the reply I Sure hope Michael wins, but if he doesn't and John Lithgow does, I won't be too upset. I'll be really mad if anybody else wins other than Michael and John. By the way, when is it airing? I hope E! (latin E!) transmits it, they did with the emmy live and all, hopefully the golden globe too.

Personally I will be shocked if Michael does win over Lithgow. I found Lithgow's character far more entertaining and chilling in the last season of Dexter. The character was by far the best of all guest actors on the series so far. I don't think Michael has been blessed with a good enough script to challenge Lithgow on this one, certainly not last season anyway. He was good enough for me to sit there and think "There's no way this is the same guy who prats about in 3rd Rock from the sun"
It will be an interesting one to watch but I can't see it happening myself

That's just why I fear for Michael if Lithgow gets into his category at next year's Emmys. So this may be a preview of that potential showdown between villains. But if Michael does get back in next year, and has a great S6 episode to submit, it might be a different story. To say nothing of imagining Terry there with them, if he submits himself next year.

Lithgow, like Emerson, is an amazing actor. I'd love to see those two in a production together. Both Lithgow and Emerson could do great comedy as well. (By the way, comedy is much harder than drama. Timing is of essence.)

I agree. The Lost writers need to give Michael a good script this year, frankly the last two have been a bit lacking and he's had not a lot to work with, although he has done magnificent with what he's had. I've always based the Emmy win on his S3 performance because that's what he should have got it for, like Terry should have won years before he actually did. One thing in Michael's favour is that he does have another season to do.... Lithgow's Trinity" is gone for good... way across the Atlantic ... unless Lithgow is cast in something else in the mean time, that is.

Imho Michael deserves each and every Golden prize is out there since ''One of Them''. Lithgow should simply be in another category (guest star). Golden Globe categories are oddly mixed up.
