For those who saw that terrifying promo for next week's episode- which is now at spoilerslost.blogspot.com/2010/03/episode-6x07-dr-linus-new-abc-promo.html I will attempt to calm you guys down. Go to the Gentlemen's Quarterly interview from last week, at www.gq.com/blogs/the-q/2010/02/a-half-hour-with-losts-most-compelling-living-character.html Review the part where Michael said "No, no, I'm not done or anything like that." Consider that if "the man who brought death to so many will face his own demise" next week instead, as the promo said, then Michaell will have lied to us for some time. I think we know him better than that. ABC promos are extremely misleading most of the time anyway - though even they aren't dumb enough to out and out spoil who will die before a given show. They'll tease that someone will die sometimes, but they never get that specific. Hopefully they didn't change that policy now. But even if they lied and Ben survives, they've still given us Ben fans the middle finger. Now instead of anticipating the last Ben-centric episode, they've just made Ben fans panic that he'll be killed off, and made us fear the show instead. We should be excited for this final all-Michael Lost showcase, and now they've given us a reason to panic - what kind of a thing is that to do to us? I am not afraid, but my fellow Ben fans shouldn't be either, and ABC may have just ensured they will. I hope Kristin, Auseillo, or some other Lost scoop expert shoots that promo down, so the rest of us won't dread next week. Either way, we should be mad as heck at ABC for ruining what should be a great week. Now if Ben survives, we're relieved, but mad at ABC for tainting the final Ben-centric week. And if they're right- and again, I have no doubt that they're wrong - then I guess the promo department is off the hook and Darlton takes the hit instead. But I trust Darlton is too smart to do that, and you should be too- though anyone is smart compared to the ABC promo people, apparantly.

This is so good to hear! I know the ABC promos have led us astray before but when I heard about his "demise" my heart dropped. It is hard to believe that ABC would put something so blatant out there but it seems they are trying to hype this last season as much as possible. Thank y'all for helping me calm down.

A couple of people who commented on the promo at Dark UFO suggested that Ben might just die in the sideways world. That actually could provide some clues about how the sideways and island realities are connected. After all, dead characters from the regular time line keep coming back in sideways time, but what happens when the sideways version dies first? If that's what ABC was hinting at, that might not be so bad - as long as there is still one Ben left. Of course, if that actually happens, it won't be as shocking to me since I was forced to think along those lines - so thanks again, ABC.

It's classic ABC/Darlton to add a dash of misdirection to get everyone going. Although I must say if Ben is going shuffle and dart into hiding places for the rest of the season, then I'd rather see him go out in a blaze of glory than live a life in defeat.

If they do kill him off next week they will have killed off the only thing the show currently has going for it

Besides, if you listen to the promo, they say Ben will "FACE his demise" which implies he's just going to have a near-death experience or face his death, as opposed to "MEET his demise" which would imply that he actually dies. I think it's typical of promos to do things like that, it's just a mind game....

Ben was already prepared to meet his demise in "Dead Is Dead" last year when he got judged/set up by the monster. This kind of promo doesn't make me fear Ben will die, but it makes me fear that they're repeating themselves, plot wise - like they do for so many other characters nowadays.

No Ben = No Lost. Period. Imho they won't kill him off until the series finale, the promo voiceover is just misleading as usual, like when it says ''the time for questions is over'' ;D Actually, the scary promo is giving me hope he'll finally start to fight back, and gain more screentime from now on (about time!!)

I can only say, Ben can't die, not now. He won't. He'll fight back this time. Heck, it looks like that b*tch is forcing him to dig his own grave, he must fight back!
