I'd be happy to help! Everyone deserves the joy that Emerson fanmail brings! AMEN!!!! lol Folks, you have a professional editor among you: MOI. I charge quite a bit for freelance work, but I am willing to do it for free for anyone who asks for help with writing a letter to Michael. (And, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I am a good writer as well.)

Now that Michael is off the island for the season, which of his addresses should we use to send letters and photos, and our upcoming birthday book, during the summer? He'll be back on the island (that is, if his contract is renewed) in August.

Folks, you have a professional editor among you: MOI. I have a question......if you are polite and are sincere....then does it really matter if you have an editor look it over? I'm not trying to be mean or anything. On the contrary....I appreciate your offer. I'm just wondering if I should of been more professional in my letter....if that would of made a difference....

I'm pretty sure IRC's are what you need to send stuff and get stuff back from another country. Anyone else know, am I right? If you write the letter and let me know which pictures you want I don't mind printing them out and sending them for you. I have oodles of photo paper! Then when they get back I can mail them to you! Then you don't have to worry about getting the IRC's to go back and forth. I bet they will even forward his fan mail to him so you don't have to wait all summer! If you don't like that idea, it's okay. I'll help however I can.

The editorial is more for people whose grammar is shaky. If you are fairly fluent in English and are not afraid to write to him, go for it. But if you are not comfortable, you can come to me. As an editor, I know when to edit for perfection (such as a book) and when to leave things in the vernacular (a fan letter). A fan letter should never sound professional. It should come from your heart. However, if you are, for whatever reason, uncomfortable sending a letter without someone else's eyes going over it, by all means, use my free services. (I usually charge $50.00 and up an hour, so you are getting a bargain.)

Well, I did it. I wrote to him, again.
This time, I made copies of the "Michael's Message to the Fan Board" section. I wanted him to see how grateful we were that he took the time to write to us. It may be too late, as they maybe getting ready to leave Hawaii. From what I understand, they stay put till the last episode is aired. There is some sort of social barbecue or picnic function that they have to attend with the locals. In any event, if it doesn't get to him there, I hope that it will be forwarded. I'll keep you all posted.

Well, if it takes between a week-two weeks or so for messages to get to Hawaii, and they're staying there for two more weeks at least, it should get there before the finale. How many messages total were you able to put on there for him?[of course you couldn't have included every single post on that thread]What's the list of people that were credited with responses? If he wants to respond back to the responses, would he send such a thing back to you?

I printed (on a color printer from work) all the replies to that entry and let him see how the board gushed over him. I even went ahead and touched upon that interview wherein he felt that there might some threads about how ugly he is and told him that people gush over his talent, his acting, and women (and some men) think that he is sexy. Then I told him that I hope that I had made his day.

I am keeping that a secret till (if I do) hear from him. I'll let you know what the question was even if ignores the question. (It was a legitimate question about his career, but he may not want to answer it for whatever reason.)
