So, while you could count on one hand (okay, one-and-a-half hands) the number of people on Michael's IMDB board saying he looks like a "rat" or a "gross pedophile" or just plain unattractive, that's one hand too many. I'm on a mission to convert them. imdb.com/name/nm0256237/board/thread/68414514I've uploaded the best ammunition I know. If any of you would like to pop over for support (or to add in some great pictures I've forgotten), you are more than welcome. Thank you, kiagary, amidala64, and the patrons of the Henry Gale Lovers Community for the pictures.

Huh; I didn't know you could do direct links on imdb's boards. How did you do it? Most posters make you copy and paste. linus108... well... that one's never really been a fave of mine. *sheepish* But you should definitely add it to the thread! (... it is growing on me, though, the more I look at it. It's like hypnotic ;D ) * And for anyone who's not signed up with IMDB, here's the link to the photo album I'm using.s177.photobucket.com/albums/w227/ranne28/Fav%20Michael%20Emerson%20pictures/

Henryrocks: What movies are these from I think they are from his plays. I am quite sure that the one on the bottom is from Hedda Gabler.

RedNymph234: I wish they were movies! That would be awesome. (Although then they'd probably be too obscure to find ) These are both stage roles. The first is from Only the End of the World, with Michael as Louis, "returning home after an absence of some years to try to tell his mother and siblings that he has a fatal disease, AIDS." The second is Michael's Broadway turn as husband George Tesman, to Kate Burton's Hedda Gabler. Some interesting bits about the latter production: ""I haven't worked without Kate in over two years," says Emerson. "Before this, we did the Brian Friel play, Give Me Your Answer, Do at the Roundabout. George in Hedda actually grew out of that. Kate and I got along famously and, one night, we were having a conversation backstage. She said something offhand about what I thought of Hedda Gabler. She said there were plans afoot to do it and I said, ' I'd like to be in on that.' A not so auspicious beginning!" Though there's a huge volume of Ibsen in his dressing room, Emerson doesn't consider himself an expert on the Norwegian's plays. "I sort of avoided Ibsen," he laughs. "I'd read Hedda because, years ago as an undergrad, I played Eilert Lovborg [David Lansbury in the new production]. I was terribly earnest and serious and just dreadful."... He says working with Burton is a delight. "I adore Kate. She's the most easy going, fun-loving person. We get along famously. With her, the work takes care of itself without a lot of hand wringing and psychoanalysis. Even when we're working hard, it's fun. (Director) Nicholas Martin created a wonderful atmosphere. Our rehearsals were so high-spirited that it was like a party. That's a wonderful way to work, even in such a deep, dark play."" It's a good interview. www.theaterscene.net/ts/articles.nsf/FI/BB31D49AC4743DAE85256C7500200145Another interesting tidbit: it was two years after Michael and Carrie married that he could afford to buy her a ring.

She definitely married for love.

I'm glad I could help, henryrocks!!
Michael is so gorgeous although he calls his own looks "eccentric".
Keep fighting the good fight!

Great pics, but... I don't think those people on the message board are convince-able. Face it, folk like us are in that discerning minority of freaks who prefer the complicated, brooding ones to the lantern-jawed, musclebound, plain-vanilla heroes...
