Okay, friends. I'm allowed just one more LJ icon, and I would like it to be a shot of George from It's a Wonderful Life, when he realizes that it's all real - it's this super-melodramatic moment where his eyes bug out and he slowly turns his head from the left to the right like a crazy person. I CANNOT find any screencaps of this anywhere. I would request this somewhere on LJ, but by and large these requests seem to be ignored, unless a) they 'know' you or b) you have the picture you want right there.

I'll rent the DVD and make that capture.

How do you even go about doing that?? I've never read anywhere what that involves, actually. I hope you like the movie thank you!

There are a number of software products that create screencaps. Do you watch the DVD through your computer? If you do, download VLC player (http://www.videolan.org/). It is free, and it can do screencaps.

Hmm. Does it take up a massive amount of space on your computer, do you think?
Yes, I can watch it on my laptop.
I would LOVE to be able to make my own screencaps (and thus icons) then.

It does not take up much space at all. It is a great tool. I personally use other means, but people really vouch for this software.

I use VLC. I personally don't think it's the best program out there, but it gets me by.

I use Quick Screenshot Maker. You can set it to take screenshots as you play your DVD. That is how I make all my screencaps. I set it to 2 seconds apart. That's a lot of Ben shots.
Screenshots can also be used for individual shots, by setting it to rectangular, square, or whatever. It's even a great tool to steal those locked up pictures.

I'm going to have to get myself acquainted with your program, Edith... at the moment I take screenshots manually, LoL.

I have the DVD. Where exactly is the scene you want screencapped?

I would love to have a banner (or wallpaper, if that is okay) with Michael as Zep from Saw (because I found him incredibly sexy in that movie)...especially his BLACK LEATHER GLOVES Anyway, a picture with him wearing those gloves would rule. With a caption saying "Sexy Gloves" (original, heh). If this is possible, I would really appreciate it ^^
