Just a nit: Although I know people want to know about "Lost" storyline, it seems a waste to dwell too much on this in an interview. It seems the actors aren't as informed as we'd like to believe they are and if they are, they aren't talking for obvious reasons. FWIW, I resolved after "Enter 77" to swear off spoilers. Sure, there were surprises despite what I learned in advance, but my enjoyment was far less than what it would have been had I not known.
But to get back to the point, I want to read more about the actor. What motivates him, what he draws from for guidance on his roles, what his acting plans are, and some details about his private life/personal worldview, but like the spoilers, I don't really want to know too much about that. Part of the appeal is the mystery. This is true even in friendships, I think.

I just voted for my question, number 13 but number 43 is good, too! Damn!

I voted for yours, too, sailornova, but I'm afraid there's little hope for us. This question is funny: "38. In "Tricia Tanaka is Dead," the Three Dog Night song "Shambala" is prominently featured. There are obvious comparisons to the Tibetan Budhist version of what and where Shambala is and the islands. There are also comparisons to an ancient race of people who live in Shambala and Ben's group of "others." Should we be looking more into this?" Oook there. And "the one thing he wishes people knew about Ben" (3rd most popular question)? That's not going to be very interesting. Probably just something about his perceived creepiness, and how 'normal' or 'good' Michael thinks he really is. And what chance is there that Michael will say yes or no to the flashback question? *sigh* They should just let us interview him. We'd do it right.

So we aren't all voting together? (not to be annoying ;D) (and what one did you choose, esbaker?) I voted for #86, which was one of my questions. I knew I didn't have ghost of a chance. I updated my blog about this voting. Here's my introduction to the results: (Well, I posted the questions that I wanted to ask Michael Emerson. My questions, right along with the other people's questions were posted for a fanwide vote. I just found out that the poll results are final. My questions didn't win. In fact, they were way off the bottom of the list. I am not bothered about this. What I am bothered is that the three questions that won are so lame--no, I will not hold back, they were downright stupid. There is no way that Michael Emerson could answer them. The three questions that won are about the show's mythology. The man is not the creator, producer, or writer of the show. And, if he knew the answers, he would not be able to divulge them. These fans were asking him to practically give answers to what LOST is all about. There were a few of us who asked decent questions about him and his career. Nobody wants to know the man; all they want to know about is LOST. I find that the same is with the reporters who interview him: They either harp on the creepiness of his character or ask him to give details about Henry Gale and Ben Linus, which is impossible for Michael Emerson to answer. Anyway, the questions and the results are behind the LJ cut. My answers and poll placements are in red. The winning questions are in blue.) OK, we should make lemonade out of lemons, right? Well, I did just that. I wrote him a letter and included my questions.
I have to breathe in and out slowly (I don't like to bother celebrities) and mail the letter.

I'd do the same thing, esbaker, but I'm skeptical he'll write back. Do you think he will?

Hmm. Do I dare send him all of mine? "Do you and Carrie plan to have children?" "What are your spiritual beliefs?"
And how many questions is too many?

@ esbaker: I didn't notice it was a quote! In this case, I agree with you! ;D @ esbaker & henryrocks: I put some questions for Michael in my fan mail, but they are not as "personal" as religious matters or children.. I put a sheet of paper with my questions and I left some blanks for him to write a brief answer! Dunno if he'll answer, but I had to try.. edited: Ok guys.. I just got back my pics, but there's no paper and so no ansewrs .. I don't mind! I got my pics!!! ;D And an autograph with the silver pen! ;D I'm gonna post them later on Fan mail thread..
