According to this report at www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/thompson/entries/2008/02/cbs_cane_gets_c.html the CBS series Cane was knocked off. The only reason we know what Cane is is because Nestor Carbonell, a.k.a Richard Alpert, was a cast member and that's why there has been no sign of Richard this season. Now that he's freed up again, it leaves us to wonder whether Darlton has room to bring him back. Probably far too late for him to appear in Season 4 in the present time, but certainly if there is another Ben flashback this season, Richard could play a role. Then they can bring Richard and the remaining Others back from "The Temple" for Season 5. In any case, this is something to look for way down the road. |

I read that the other day, and I started screaming, not because I'm a Richard fan, but because I wanted TPTB to continue Richard's plotline, and not drop it just because of Cane.

I also like Richard's plotline and Nestor's way of playing his part. Richard is one of the brightest and most mysterious characters and that would be really great if Darlton had such an opportunity to bring him back to the show. |

This really is fantastic news for Lost and for Ben's back story. I feel bad for Nestor but his profile has gone through the roof since being on Lost anyway, so sticking around for a couple more years can't do him any harm as an actor.
