Emma slept fitfully in Sayid's arms. She woke up disoriented, aching to hold her baby and, for just a fleeting moment, completely unaware of what had happened the night before.
"Sayid?" she said in a sleepy voice. "Where's Desmond?"
"Shhh..." he replied. "Not now."
"Wait. Why am I back in this cell? Sayid, what happened?"
"Let's not talk about it." Sayid kissed Emma's head.
"No." Emma stood up, agitated. "He's dead...Patrick's dead. I killed him!"
Sayid stood up and reached for Emma. She allowed him to pull her close to him. "You did what had to be done. If you knew what I did off the island, you would understand. Sometimes taking a life is the only way to survive."
Emma looked into Sayid's eyes, desperate to find a soul that would understand the torment that she felt inside. She was overwhelmed with emotion, and before she knew it she was puling him into a deep, searching, passionate kiss. He responded to her with equal intensity, and Emma's guilt melted away.
They were interrupted by Oliver, who stood in the doorway to the sparse little cell they shared. He cleared his throat to announce his presence. Sayid and Emma broke off their kiss and faced him. Sayid kept his arms wrapped around her protectively.
"I understand I missed quite a bit of action while I was away," Oliver said in a mournful voice. "Far more than I anticipated. Emma, you're quite the actress. You had me believing...never mind. You've messed up, and now you'll have to pay." Oliver left a tray of food on the floor before backing out of the cell. His discomfort was obvious. "I would have helped you escape," he added. "But it's too late now."
Emma didn't know what to say. It was true, she had been acting with him, but that didn't stop the guilt from overwhelming her. She reached out to touch Oliver's arm. "Oliver, please...promise me Zoe will be all right?"
Oliver gazed at Emma. "We have to deal with Patrick's death, and that will buy her some time. But ultimately she will have to submit to her fate." Without another word, he abruptly closed the door to the cell behind him.
Tears welled up in Emma's eyes. "I've ruined our chances of escape, Sayid. And Desmond..." her voice trailed off. Sayid jumped in.
"We will escape from here, with Desmond. I promise!" Sayid spoke so firmly that Emma couldn't help but believe his words. They melted into another embrace; without a word they acknowledged that, in that particular moment in time, they only had each other to cling to, and they were both grateful for it.

"I'm gonna need my supplies! Meet me at the drop off point!" she said hanging up the phone. She turned to the farmer and thanked him. Before leaving his house.
...................................................................................................
Sophie sat on a park bench and waited. She noticed a man in a suit walk by with a briefcase. He placed it on the ground with a newspaper and fiddled with his mobile before leaving off and forgetting the case. Sophie looked around and then walked over quickly picking up the things. She went into a cafe and sat and ordered a coffee. Sitting in the furtherest corner. She looked at the london newspaper and glanced at the date. But was more shocked at the year. It was 2001. Ben had sent her back in time. Opening the case she found money passports other details that she had used while she was Rebecca. Underneath was her gun. She sighed then slammed shut her case. Resting her head in her hands. A tear rolled down her cheek. She was alone.
Three years later......
Sophie had settled in a flat in london. She kept to herself. Trying not to cause susipicion for herself. To be found. She changed her hair colour she was now a red head and her cut was a mid length bob. She always wore a different eye coloured contacts. No one would of regconised her now. Everyday she would have a moment with tears. Thinking of Ben hoping one day he would come for her. But nothing. She missed her daughter terribly. She didn't have clue if her daughter had aged or not knowing it was 2004. She wouldn't of even been born yet. Then suddenly the phone rang. It made her jump it was odd because her phone never rang and if it did it was those stupid sales people.
"Hello?" she asked picking up the phone.
"Hello Sophie"
Sophie gasped out loud she recgonised the voice straight away. It was Ben! Her Ben!
"Don't say anything. Just meet me at the restaurant around the corner." Then the phone hanged up.
Sophie instanly pulled on some clothing. Checked herself out. She was excited. She grabbed her coat and keys placing her gun into her boot. She was unsure if it was him and headed to meet him.
She walked in and looked around when she noticed him wave for to come over. She rushed over and hugged him so tightly.
"I've missed you so much" She cried
"I've missed you too." he whispered back. Pulling away for there embrace he sat back down and Sophie joined him. "The colour suits you." he said noticing her change of hair colour. Sophie blushed and held his hand she couldn't stop looking at him.
"Hows Molly?" she asked.
"Shes doing great." Ben smiled.
"Has she forgotton me? It's been so long?"
"No... It's only been a few days since you left."
"I don;t understand?" she asked.
"Sophie its 2004. Back on the island its 2005. I brought you back here for a reason Sophie." Ben pulled out a file and sophie opened it. It was her about her. But under a new identity. "I need you to read this every little detail. Your going to be working for him and on this specific day." He points to the file. "Your gonna get on the friegther thats ported on Fiji and that will take you back home. Back to me and Molly."
"You've put me through all this to bring me back home? Why?"
"I had too. Too protect you. That day i put you in that box. Charles wanted you. Take you away. I couldn't let him. So the only way was to do this. Right now on the island Charles thinks you have gone off the island. Which you have in a way. But not in the right timeline to him." Ben smirked. "In three days time he will leave the island to track you down and once he thinks hes got you. He those he can use you to find the island again and i can't let him find it. Little does he know that while he leaves looking for you. You were on the island the whole time. Right under his nose and he had no clue. Thats why you have to get on that Frieghter Sophie! And if you don't get on it. Then you'll never get back."
"But can't i just use my powers? Like i did before."
"No. Its too risky."
"Ok i'll do it!"
........................................
"Sophie?" Ben asked as he kissed her cheek. "I have to go sweetie." Sophie stirred from her sleep noticing Ben buttoning up his shirt.
"So soon? You only just got here?" she sighed sitting up.
"I know. But right now im needed at the island." He kissed her one last time. "Will be together soon i promise." he smiled. Grabbing his coat he left her flat. Sophie watched at the window as he looked up to her before stepping into a black cab.
Back on the island.
"Did you hear that?" Emma said looking to Sayid. As they heard a bang. Like a gunshot. Then another went off. Both of them stood up and pressed theres ear against the wall to hear anything.
"Natalie what are you doing?"
"Who said i was Natalie!" Then she pulled the trigger. Shooting one of the men on the floor.
Emma took a step back and Sayid gaurded her as the door. Opened. A woman stood there wearing jeans, hoodie and a baseball cap. "C'mon i'm getting you out of here!" She said. Both not moving. She removed her cap and Sayid took a double take realising it was her.
"Sophie?"

Zoe woke up wearily. Her head was thumping like mad and she was surrounded in darkness. She was still on the bed, her right arm handcuffed to it, so she knew she must still be in the operating room. A tear fell down her cheek. She had seen a scaple being passed to Emma just before she went under. What had happened to her? What had they done?
She sat up suddenly, lifting her top and felt around her stomache for some indication of a sewn up insicion that had been made, but she felt all around and along her waist and there was nothing. Her eyes began to adjust to her surroundings in the dark, and she made out the small operating tray, with tools, by the looks of it, ready to be put in use. She slowly and quietly reached out and picked one up. She felt across the whole on the instrument, cringing, but holding in any sound of pain as she caught the tip of her finger on the blade. She had picked up a scaple.
Then she heard yells and shouts, and familar bangs - gunshots. Her eyes were now well adjusted to the dark, she just made the outline of the door to her room. She then heard a sudden grunt - it came from in her room, nearby too. Someone was in the room with her!
Zoe kept quiet, she didn't want to give away to whoever it was she was awake, especially now she had a weapon she managed to obtain while he was asleep, she carefully laid back down on her bed and closed her eyes, keeping the scaple in her hand under the covers, just in time to hear the lights being flicked on. All she had now was her ears to rely on. She heard a gun being loaded.
The doors into the room burst open, and she heard a coarse deep voice shout before whoever had entered could say anything.
"Drop your weapons, or I will shoot her now. You have ten seconds. 10...9...8..." Came the voice from the man who had the gun, as he pressed it against Zoe's head. Zoe tried to remain still, not wanting to give away her pretence.
"Who's to say you won't kill us if we drop our guns?" Zoe heard a familar voice. Sophie!
"7...6...5.." The man continued.
"No! Wait! Please!" Zoe then heard Emma's voice plead. She felt the pressure of the gun lift slightly from her head as the man hesitated a little. This was the opertunity she had been waiting for. With her cuffed hand, she griped the mans gun hand tightly, forcing it down onto the matress. Caught by suprise the gun was fired, but the bullet went deep into the matress rather then herself or the guy.
Zoe then swiftly sat up, and with her left hand holdign the scaple, she swiped at the guy, slitting him across the throat. He stood still for a moment, his blood spraying everywhere, splatting her face, her surgical paient clothes drenching before he fell to the floor, suffocating in his own pool of blood. Zoe took sharp intakes of breath, her eyes wide in shock at what she had done. She hadn''t hesitated to kill people before, but she didn't expect she would have to again. She sat still, still clenching the scaple, covered in blood.
"The keys!" She mumbled, her voice wobbling a little incontrolablly, indicating for someone to uncuff her.

Emma rifled through the dead man's pockets and found the key to the handcuffs. She quickly released Zoe from the handcuffs and helped her off the operating table. "Are you okay?" she asked Zoe. Zoe nodded grimly in response, but she seemed shocked and dazed.
Emma turned to Sophie. "Sophie, I don't understand. How did you..."
"There's no time to explain. We need to get out of here now, before Widmore finds out and sends more people," Sophie interrupted.
"We need to find Desmond first!" Emma cried.
At that exact moment, Emma heard a baby's cry coming from the doorway. Oliver stood there, holding Desmond and watching the bloody scene before him.
"Desmond!" Emma moved towards her baby, but Sayid held her back firmly. "Wait," he whispered in her ear. "Oliver doesn't look quite right."
Sayid was right. Oliver had an intensely focused look in his eyes and was mumbling to himself. His eyes met Emma's. "You've been awfully bad, Emma. First you lied to me, made me think you were falling in love with me. Then you and your friend killed my colleagues. I trusted you, and you ruined everything!"
"I did what I had to do, Oliver. Please hand me my baby."
Oliver shook his head. "Desmond must stay here. Widmore demands it. It's your punishment, Emma."
Sophie had moved closer to Oliver and slowly raised her gun to his head. "Hand the baby over, Oliver. We're four against one - you lose."
Oliver tightened his grip on Desmond. "He's safer here. He needs me. And we need to keep Zoe here as well. Her growing baby is very important to our studies."
"No, Oliver. Desmond needs his mother." Sayid responded. "Give him to us. You cannot keep us prisoner anymore."
Oliver laughed. "You really don't have a clue, do you? You don't know anything about this baby, or what kind of knowledge we've gained from studying him." He pointed at Emma and laughed again. "Can you even be sure who's baby this really is?"
Sophie lowered her gun, intrigued by the conversation, but remained alert and ready to act should Oliver do something unexpected. Zoe began to regain her strength as the effect of the drugs wore off, and she too moved closer to Oliver, fiddling with the gun in her hands, silently warning him not to make a move.
"What are you saying?" Emma asked, frightened by his increasingly bizarre manner.
Oliver smiled wickedly. "I'm saying there's a lot you don't know about your own baby. You think he belongs to Jack? Think again. We've tested his DNA multiple times, and it's proven beyond a doubt. This baby was named for his real father."
"I don't understand!" Emma cried.
"Desmond Hume is the father of this baby. This is why we need to keep him here. He possesses secrets to this island that we've only just begun to uncover."
"You're lying." Sayid glared at him.
Oliver smirked. "I can show you our laboratory data. It's undeniable."
"It's not possible," Emma declared. "Desmond can't be the father."
"Haven't you realized by now that anything is possible on this island? I can give you answers, Emma, but only if you stay here in the Orchid with me."

Only two days had passed since Ben had abandoned Mel at the Hydra. Despite the short time she had spent with Keamy she felt she could understand what people who experienced Stockholm Syndrome went through.
At any one time she felt repulsed, scared and drawn to him. She found herself having to fight the instinct to move closer to him while they were sleeping. Other times she was terrfied by the conviction in his eyes.
"Mel?" she heard.
She turned and saw Keamy studying her.
"Yes Martin?"
"Come here please."
Mel didn't feel like fighting him so she did as he asked. He was standing by a tree and as she approached he leaned against it.
"I think it is time." he said quietly.
"Time for what?" she asked.
"For an experiment."
Keamy took a step towards her so he was only inches from her. One of his strong hands came up to cup her cheek.
Mel couldn't move, she was frozen to the spot. She knew she shouldn't let this happen but she was powerless to do anything.
Keamy lowered his lips to hers until she felt them brush against her own softly. His blue eyes looked into heres and she could plainly see the love he held for her. He kissed her again, more firmly this time and this time didn't pull away.
Mel felt a strange feeling come over her as Keamy kissed her. She felt a boiling begin in her stomach and the skin where Keamy had touched her began to tingle. She felt out of control as she began to return Keamy's kiss, winding her arms around his neck and pulling him closer.
Keamy responded to her by whipping her around and throwing her against the tree. He grabbed her wrists and pinned them above her as he looked down at her. She breathed heavily as she looked back up at him.
"Good." he smiled as he crushed his lips once again to hers.
Mel felt hours pass but in reality it was mere seconds. She couldn't believe how incredibly right being with Keamy felt.
"Mel?" she suddenly heard through the fog. She faintly realized that it wasn't Keamy's voice. She forced her eyes open as saw the outline of someone standing to the side of Keamy a few yards off.
"Keamy." she breathed, "Someone is here." she said as her vision began to focus and she saw who it was.
"Oh my God." she said and tried to push Keamy off of her. "Damnit Keamy, let go!" she yelled.
Keamy finally heard her and released her immediatley with a question in his eyes. She pointed to Ben who stood there with a stunned expression on his face.
"Ben." Mel said and took a step forward but Keamy stopped her.
"No Mel, he is the one who left you here." he said softly.
"What are you doing here Ben?" she asked.
Ben shook himself out of his shock, "I came here to rescue you. But it doesn't look like you need any rescusing."
"You came here to rescue her? You're the one who abandoned her here in the first place." Keamy exclaimed.
Mel placed a hand on Keamy's chest. "Please don't." she told him as she walked up to Ben.
"What do you really need?" she asked.
Ben blinked before looking at her, "I need you to come back with me."
"I thought you needed me here. I don't understand." Mel said.
"I need you to trust me Mel, come with me." Ben said taking her hand.
"She is not going anywhere." Keamy said walking up to them.
"Yes Martin she is."
"You know him?" Mel asked.
"He works for your father of course I know who he is." Ben snapped. "If you knew the kind of man he is, the things he has done you wouldn't be so comfortable with him."
"Melody." Keamy warned. "Please don't go with him. You know you belong here with me." Keamy pleaded.
"Mel we need to leave now!" Ben said.
"No!" Keamy yelled.
Mel looked between the two men, not sure what to believe.
"She's not leaving with you." Keamy told Ben.
"Oh I think she is." Ben said as he pulled out a gun and shot Keamy in the chest. Keamy looked with surprise at his chest as he staggered back and fell to the ground.
"Martin!" Mel screamed as she ran to his side.
She grabbed his hand and he clutched it tightly as he looked up at her. "Please don't die." she cried.
Keamy raised his other hand and wiped a tear from her cheek, "I love you Mel. I always have."
Mel cried even harded as Keamy pulled her closer to him. She bent down and kissed him. "I'm sorry." she whispered.
"Don't be." he smiled sadly. "You'll see me again, in one life or another."
Mel nodded and put her lips next to his ear, "Thank you for helping me see. Martin, I love you."
She pulled away to look at him and he had a serene smile on his face. "Goodbye Mel." he said as he went still.
"No!" she cried and buired her head in his chest. "No!" but it was no use Mel looked painfully up to Ben who stood there without any emotion on his face. She looked back at Keamy, he was gone.

"You're mistaken, Oliver." Emma said coldly. Sayid's hands gripped her shoulders, giving her the strength to oppose Oliver. "You are going to stop feeding us lies, and you are going to let us leave this place with my baby."
Oliver shook his head. Desmond began to cry in his arms and reached out for his mother. "I can't let that happen, Emma. I'm sorry." He shifted Desmond so he held him in one hand and reached his other hand behind his back. Zoe and Sophie immediately focused their guns on him.
"I wouldn't do that," Sophie hissed. Before any of them could react, Oliver had pulled a walkie talkie out of his pocket. He flicked it on and spoke into it. "This is Oliver. The Orchid has been breached. I'm taking the subjects to Experimental Station B. Will inform Widmore. Over."
"Toss it," Sophie demanded. Oliver flung the walkie talkie to the ground. As Sophie reached for it, Oliver reached behind him a second time. This time, he pulled what looked like a grenade out of his pocket. He threw it to the ground and the operating room immediately filled with a cloudy yellow gas. All four of them began to choke and doubled over, gasping for breath. Emma couldn't see anything around her. She heard Desmond's cries but was so disoriented by the gas that she couldn't locate him.
After a few minutes the gaseous cloud subsided. Emma looked around her. Sayid and Sophie were on the ground, coughing and fighting nausea. Oliver had disappeared in the chaos, and taken Desmond and Zoe with him.

In the sudden comotion, and disorientation from the gas as well as still slightly shocked from having killed another man, Zoe felt herself being grabbed at and dragged away. She still heard Desmond crying and knew Oliver had been the one to grab at her, forcing her to drop the gun when he hit her pressure point on her wrist.
Oliver now had the gun aimed at her, forcing her to follow him with baby Desmond. Zoe glanced back at the operation room nervously.
"Keep moving!" Oliver snapped.
"You've just murdered my friends!" Zoe snapped back.
"I haven't." Oliver replied ruefully. "They'll just be knocked unconcious. I'm not a murderer like you." Zoe scoffed in disbelief, and Oliver shoved her further ahead of him out of spite.
"Why am I so important to your lot anyway?" Zoe asked bitterly.
"You are an unsual case. We know all about you and your situation. And to be quite frank, it shouldn't be allowed. Science wouldn't allow it. The very fact that you are standing, living and breathing. It's just wrong. You are an impossible fact." Oliver replied. "You shouldn't be here."
"But yet I am." Zoe replied nonchalantly.
"Shut up and keep moving!" Oliver snapped.
"Or what? You're gunna kill me?" Zoe replied, turning to face him, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, cuz that really worked the last time one of you people put a bullet through my heart." Zoe leant closer to whisper in Oliver's ear. "Guess what. It made me stronger."
"If it made you stronger, then why are you still here? Why haven't you fought me off yet to go and help your friends?" Oliver tested.
"You have Desmond, and there is no way I am allowing you to go off with him without me making sure he is ok. Yeah, I can't stop you, you have a gun at my head, and if you shoot me, I will probably be knocked out for so long, giving you time to escape to wherever this 'Experiemental Station B' is. Believe me. The only reason I am allowing you to take me - is because I want to come." Zoe replied coldly, her eyes of mystery, a smug expression spread across her face.

Sophie stood up helping Sayid up from the ground. Coughing from inhaling the smoke she helped him move to another place where the smoke had not gone in.
"Emma? Where is Emma?" he asked coughing and weak.
"I dunno, shes dissappeared!"
"We have to find her!" Sayid said trying to get up but collasped again on the floor.
"Sayid!" Sophie said helping. "Emma will be going to the same place i'm going!" she said. Pulling Sayid up and making his arm flung around her shoulders to help carry him. "I have to get my son Sayid!"

Emma had passed out from the noxious gas. When she came to, she was alone in the operating room. She had fallen behind the operating table, hidden from sight.
"Sayid? Sophie?" she spluttered. Her lungs felt like they were on fire. She struggled to get up off the floor, panicking at their disappearance. She finally made it up but was too weak to walk very far past the doorway to the operating room. "Hello?" her voice echoed down the corridor of the empty Orchid. She was alone.
It was time to leave the Orchid and return to her old life in the village, and to Jack. So much had changed that she felt like a different person. Having killed a man weighed heavily on her conscience. Jack wouldn't understand her feelings; he had never taken a human life. This was something that would separate them forever, despite the love that they had for each other.
And how could she explain Oliver's beliefs about Desmond? It was impossible for Desmond to be the father of her baby; once she met and fallen in love with Jack she had remained faithful to him. But Desmond held many secrets, and had special powers. Was Oliver right, or was he just playing with her mind? If Jack really wasn't her baby's father, that was something else that would create division between them.
Everything was going to be very, very different once she was home in the village.

"You bastard!" Mel yelled at Ben as she stood. "Why did you have to kill him?"
"He wasn't going to let you leave with me." Ben said calmly.
"And for good reason! Ben, he had a point. You left me here on this island because you didn't want me interfering with your plans. You didn't want my father to use me against you anymore. So why are you really here? And don't you dare lie to me!"
Ben looked at Mel, really looked at her. She was heartbroken, the tears in her eyes still present. It was obvious something more than the primal lust he had witnessed had gone on between her and Keamy.
"Why are you crying over him Mel?" he asked.
Mel fell silent and looked away, "It's a long story."
"Another man from your past perhaps? How little I truly knew about you when I chose you to bear my children, when I told Ethan to bring you to the island. You have so many men tucked under your belt I've begun to lose count."
Mel glared at Ben, "I never asked for anyone to throw themselves at me, to fall in love with me. And in case you've forgotten I never asked to be brought here. I was happy in my old life without this island and without you."
"Ah yes, your old life with your dear father Charles Widmore."
"You can't hold my father against me Ben!" Mel cried.
"I will! Your father threatens everything I have ever held dear. He wants to destroy everything I have ever cared about. And he wants to start with Sophie."
Mel gave a sarcastic chuckle, "Tell me something Ben. Why is it that every time something happens with Sophie or she is in danger you cry to me about it? What do you think I am going to do run in and fix everything? Wake up Ben, that is never going to happen."
Ben shook his head, "I don't want you to fix anything Mel, but I do want you to care."
"That is just too bad Ben because I don't. That woman has never given me a reason to like her or care about her well being."
"She brought you back your children." Ben defended.
"Because she didn't want to raise them. Her husbands children with another woman. The woman he really belongs with. I don't blame her. If you brought me Molly today I would have a hard time accepting her as my own. I probably never would."
Ben looked away, "You Mel are more like your father than you think."
Mel shrugged, "What do you want from me Ben? You tell me that you love Sophie, that you are going to be with her and not with me but then you show up and try to provoke these feelings in me. I think you want me to love you, to pine for you, but you don't want to have to reciprocate. You want me on the sidelines like when I first came here. Your backup in case something goes wrong with Sophie."
"That's not true." Ben said forcefully.
Mel quirked her eyebrow and she stepped closer to him, "Then why did you kill him?" she asked pointing at Keamy. "You saw the two of us together Ben, kissing one another, and it bothered you. Admit is Ben, you were jealous that another man was touching me."
"No." Ben shook his head but Mel could see the truth in his eyes.
"You can't have me Ben and you want to make it so no other man can either."
"No other man deserves you!" Ben yelled.
Mel raised her hand and slapped him soundly across his cheek. Ben's hand shot up to his face as he looked at her with surprise.
"You lost your right to determine what is good for me a long time ago. How dare you make the presumption that you still control me. I swear to God Ben, you are going to stop interfering with my life. I can't stand it anymore. You and me? We are over. Like there was never anything between us in the first place. You go back to your little wife and forget you ever loved me." Mel said as she pushed past him and walked towards the beach.
Ben, dumbfounded, just stood there still pondering her harsh words. Mel whipped around, "Well?"
Ben followed slowly to the small boat he had brought along. As he walked he wondered just when it was he had lost his control of Mel. He was afraid she was a precursor to him losing control of everything.

Sophie managed to get Sayid outside and made him rest up against a tree. Sitting beside him she tried to get her breath back.
"What is going on Sophie? What do you mean a son? And why do you look completey different?" he asked.
"Its a long story!" she said breathless.
"Ben?" he asked. Sophie smiled and nodded.
"I left the island and now im back! Thats all that matters!" She said standing up reloading her gun. "You gonna be ok?" she asked looking down.
"Yes. Where are you going?"
"I told you to get my son!"
"I'm coming with you."
"Not this time Sayid." she smiled before running off into the jungle.
.....................................................................
2004
Sophie glanced over a contract for the fifth time.
"You know this is the last chance to change your mind!" the man spoke. Sophie looked up then took the pen and started to sign.
"If my baby can help cure dieseases then im up for it!" placing the pen down she stood up as she greeted his hand for a shake.
"Welcome to Widmore Industries Natalie"
"I'm looking forward to working with you Mr Widmore!" she smiled.
"Good you will be contacted by Oliver in the next few days." Charles glanced over to Oliver who was standing there. As Sophie smiled softly to him.
"Hey let me show you some of the things will be working on." Oliver smiled.
"Sure." Sophie said.
"It was a pleasure to meet you Natalie." Charles said offering for another handshake.
"Oh the pleasures all mine" she smiled. Shaking his hand she turned and went off with Oliver.
"How far gone are you?" Oliver asked eagerly.
"8 weeks" she smiled rubbing her stomach.
"And the father? He's ok with this?" he asked as they walked down the corridor.
"Oh yes. It was his idea!"
.............................................................................
Sophie reached Experiemental Station B. This is where she spent the past few months with Oliver and widmores other workers. She gave birth and raised her beautiful boy. Ben was right all those years ago. Well days on the island. She hadn't lost her ablities they were always there. So if she had them her children had them too. So she knew anything they did to her baby it couldn't harm him. Pushing the large concrete door. She went down the dark eerie corridor. She heard him cry and headed towards the sounds.
"Thomas!" She sighed. Scooping him up and kissing his forehead to soothe him. "Its ok Mummys got you. Shhhhh" Seeing it was all clear no one was around. She went outside with him and there infront of her stood Jacobs Shack. Sophie shield her baby to protect him. The door opened for her to go in.

Emma stumbled out the main entrance of the Orchid. Her strength was coming back and her breathing had returned to normal. A flood of relief overwhelmed her as she left the Orchid behind her. She never even glanced back.
A few yards outside of the entrance she heard a voice calling her name weakly. She spun around and spotted Sayid propped against a tree, still trying to recover his breath. Emma ran to him.
"Are you okay, Sayid?" she asked him softly. The kiss they had shared wasn't a mistake; she felt a growing tenderness towards him after everything they had been through together. She could see in the way he looked at her that he felt the same way. The possibility of losing Jack because of these budding feelings absolutely terrified her.
Sayid nodded. "I'm okay." Emma helped him stand up. "Sophie has gone, she said something about a son. I don't know where she is."
"She's very strong, she'll be all right." Emma replied. "Sayid, how can we find the station Oliver took Desmond and Zoe to?"
Sayid thought for a moment. "I don't know. But if Widmore is still in the village, there's our answer."
"And if he isn't?"
"Then we find someone else who knows."
"What do you think will happen once we're there?"
Sayid cringed. "I have no idea. But our time together is very short," he said resolutely as he pulled Emma towards him and kissed her.

Mel and Ben reached the island in record time. In truth, Mel wanted to be as far from the Hydra and the painful realization of losing Martin as fast as possible.
Once they hit the shore Mel was out of the boat and starting off in the direction of the village without even glancing back at Ben. She was so angry with him she didn't trust herself to even talk to him anymore.
They had travelled in silence until they came to the security fence when Ben finally spoke.
"I want to tell you the reason I came back for you." he said quietly but she heard and stopped.
Mel turned around to face him but didn't say anything.
"Your father wanted you back." Ben began. "It seems that he does care for you more than just wanting to use you to get to me. In fact he cares so much he was willing to hurt our children to get you back."
Mel furrowed her brows in frustration, "Why do you continue to lie to me Ben? My father wouldn't hurt William and Bella they're just babies."
Ben walked to Mel and took her hand, "If you ever believe anything I ever told you make it this. Our children are not safe around Charles Widmore. He may care about you because you are his daughter but it doesn't mean he cares about them because they are your children. The fact that I fathered them ruined any chance of him caring for them."
Mel was about to protest again but Ben stopped her.
"Just promise me that you will watch them and him. Just be careful, okay? They are our children Mel and no matter what happens between us, I will always love them and do anything to protect them."
Mel looked up at Ben, "Alright, I will keep a close eye on them."
"Thank you." Ben smiled.
"Fine. Now let go of me." Mel said.
Ben dropped her hand and she resumed walking to the village. She didn't slow her pace until she reached her front porch where she stopped to collect herself. No matter what she did, everything was going to be different when she walked through that door. Her hand on the door knob, Mel took a deep breath and pushed the door open.

Emma and Sayid trudged wearily for hours, and finally approached the village. Her heart pounded as she thought of the reunions, and the necessary explanations, that lay ahead of them. Sayid remained grimly silent, unsure of what to expect upon their arrival.
As they walked into the courtyard Emma saw Jack sitting on his front step, talking with Sawyer. He rose and squinted in the sunlight to see better. Once he realized it was Emma walking towards him, his shock gave way to happiness and he flashed the boyish, toothy grin she loved as he ran toward her. He caught her in his arms and hugged her tightly, overwhelmed with gratitude to have her in his arms again.
Jack kissed Emma all over her face, and tears streamed down his own face. "I thought you were never coming back! Did you see Desmond? Is he okay?"
Emma couldn't help but reciprocate his joy. It felt so good to be in Jack's arms, and to be kissed by him, even as she glanced over his shoulder to see Sayid watching them intently, frowning slightly. "I saw him, Jack. He's healthy, and he's absolutely beautiful. He was taken away from me again, but this time we know where to find him."
"Thank God!" Jack cried, and lowered his lips to Emma's. Emma melted into his embrace and realized as they kissed how much she had missed him.
"I'll tell you everything, Jack." she whispered. As she said it she stiffened slightly and knew she would never be able to tell him everything that had happened. What had developed between her and Sayid had been sudden and strong, and she didn't know how being back in the village might change their feelings.
All that mattered in this moment was being with Jack again, and knowing he still loved her and her baby. She felt like a different person now, and all that was once familiar seemed strange to her, with the exception of Jack. Jack felt like home.Everything else, she reasoned, would be sorted out in time.

Sawyer woke up to Charlie crying. He turned to his side to face Zoe to check whether she was still asleep - except her side was empty. He frowned with curiosity as he got up and tended to Charlie, lifting him out of his cot and cradling him, hushing him. He was hungry, and wanting food.
Sawyer carried him through into the living and kitchen area, pausing as he did so. He could sense it. Something was wrong. There was an umbrella on the floor, and a few things on the cabinate knocked over as well as the sofa slightly askew.
Sawyer ran around the house, clutching Charlie close to him to check whether Zoe really had gpne, before dashing out the front door, his eyes surveying the courtyard. He ran down the porch steps, in a panic just as Juliet was coming out of Jack's house, Jack holding the door open for her. Sawyer ran over to them.
"Have any of you seen Zoe?" He asked anxiously. Jack shook his head.
"No, why?" Juliet asked in her usual calm voice.
"I think...I think something has happened to her. I woke up - Charlie was crying - and she wasn't there. She doesn't just go off leaving Charlie like that without saying something!" Sawyer answered her.
"They must have taken her." Jack whispered.
"Who's they?!" Sawyer demmanded.
"Widmore's men. They took Desmond. Emma went after them." Jack explained.
"Do you want me to take Charlie for a bit? I'll go and see Ben. He will be safe with him. I'll tell him what has happened and he will know what to do." Juliet offered.
"No!" Sawyer snapped. "It's because of Ben Widmore is here! Do you really think I want happening to Charlie to happen to Alex?" Sawyer regretted instantly what he had mentioned. He felt a pang of guilt and sympathy towards her. Juliet just stared at Sawyer for a moment for stalking away while Jack stared after her, turning back to Sawyer.
"Sit diown Sawyer." He asked him in a polite tone as he sat down on the porch. "There's something I need to tell you. It might partly explain why they have taken Zoe..."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zoe's eyes were cringing from pain as Oliver had grabbed her by her hair to pull her along as they walked down one of the corridors of Experimental Station B. She was then shoved into a dark room, with the door swiftly being locked behind her. Oliver then disappeared with baby Desmond who began crying again.
Zoe sighed heavily as she observed her new cell. She felt along the wall for a light switch, and flicked the light on. She was in a room similar to the Hydra, when Jack had been captured. One of the walls was covered by glass. Triple glazed no doubt so she didn't bother trying to smash it. Zoe sat down, feeling her paient clothes squelch - still damp from the fresh blood of the man she had murdered. She longed desperately for some new clothes to put on.
After about half an hour of waiting, with nothing happening - the door opened again, and Oliver had returned with fresh clothes and a plate with food. He said nothing to her, looking at her both murderously and coldly. He new he shouldn't do anything to jepordise screwing up the experiment, but he wanting nothing more then to hurt her. He placed the clothes and food down, keeping away from Zoe, to avoid temptation before sliding out the door again. Zoe waited to hear the lock click again before grabbing the clean clothes and changing into them.
She looked at the food with disgust. She didn't trust what might have been put in it. She picked up the plate and threw it across the room, the plate smashing against the wall, as she felt tears pricking in the corners of her eyes. She wiped them away quickly. She didn't want to give these men the satisfaction of thinking they had beaten her. She got up, picking up one of the broken pieces of ceramic of the plate and resumed to where she sat.
Zoe then rolled up the sleeves of the top she was wearing, and took the sharp peice of broken plate, and slowly pushed it deeply into her arm, taking a sharp intake of breath as she cut along her arm upto the indent of her elbow. Blood seeped out her wound and she droped the sharp peice of plate. She eyes welling from the pain, but then watched curiously as the blood flow stopped and her wound began to heel - the fabrics of her skin, somehow stitchig back together, until her arm was back to the way it was. Not so much of a scratch or scar was visible.

Sawyer and Jack continued their discussion, and were at the point of deciding what to do when Emma returned with Sayid into the village. Jack stood up instantly and ran over to her, Sawyer watched as they embraced before getting up himself and rushing over to them.
"Glad to see your okay pal." Sawyer nodded at Sayid. Sawyer then cleared his throat as he turned to Emma and Jack.
"I hate to interrupt - but I need to know! Where is Zoe?!" He asked Emma desperately. Emma turned to face Sawyer, her eyes softened with sympathy.
"I'm sorry Sawyer - we tried to rescue her too - but they still have her!" She told him. Sawyer turned back to Sayid.
"Where is she?! I have to go after her now!" He demanded.
"Woah Sawyer. We need to think about this carefully. Widmore's men know what they are doing. We tried the whole barging in, guns glazing thing. It didn't work. It's aggrevated them further, and we don't want to force them into doing something stupid that could hurt us all. We need to come up with a stratical plan." Sayid explained empathically to Saywer.
"I can't just sit around doing nothing!" Sawyer protested. Sayid placed a sympathetic hand on Sawyer's shoulder.
"We are going to get her back." Sayid promised and glanced at Emma. "Desmond too. But like I said. We need to come up with a plan. Work out their weaknesses."
