Where did you guys first see Michael?
I first saw him in "Saw", and for some reason I looked him up on IMDB.com and started to watch all of his other performances. He's so talented that I've become a fan ever since!
BTW, Michael's images on the top of this message board... where was it taken from?

I did the same thing! Lmao! I was also kinda surprized to find him married to Carrie Preston, who I think is a very delightful actress. I found it on google, it came from a play Michael did, something about a guy who has AIDS but hasn't told his family. It was a good review...

Yeah I first noticed Mr. Emerson on "Saw" too. I loved him in that so much that I have started watching all his other movies. I find myself sitting through movies I would be otherwise disinterested in just to catch a glimpse of him. He has been absolutely fantastic in everything I have seen him in. I look forward to seeing more of him.

Have you seen Straight-Jacket yet? I haven't, which makes me sad, lol.

I haven't seen "Straight-Jacket" either. It makes me sad too. I will keep my eye out for it though.

I finally got to see it! It was actually pretty cute, though Michael should of had more parts, lol. BTW, his wife was pretty good in this movie. She plays Sally!

I always like to look people up on IMDB and see what else they've been in. (I frequently end up watching and enjoying things I never would've bothered seeing otherwise.) I'm usually surprised to find out they were in something else I've seen, like Michael was in an episode of Law & Order: SVU that I had seen previous to Saw. It's always fun when it clicks in your head, "Oh! That was him!"

I have a question. I first heard, or think I heard, Emerson as the narrator in Neil Gaiman's radio play adaptation of his story "Murder Mysteries." The narrator - really a fascinating character, and well-performed - was listed as Michael Emerson, and this caught my attention when I saw the same name in the cast of Saw. I'm curious as to whether this is the same Michael Emerson. At times I thought the voice sounded familiar, though in "Murder Mysteries" his character was British. Can anyone shed some light on this?

mortanius, I'd never heard of the radio play before, but I searched google and found it here, downloaded the excerpt and listened- it's definitely the same Michael Emerson.

Ah, I thought so, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't thinking of someone else. In that case, I'm entirely impressed by his acting. Really a great play. It's available on Seeing Ear Theatre, here, in two parts: www.scifi.com/set/playhouse/murder/description.htmlYou'll need RealPlayer. It worked not long ago. They're not doing anything new in SET, unfortunately, but the old plays are still active. Emerson's performance in this is really stunning. Enough to make me watch Saw, which I probably wouldn't have done otherwise.

Wow, that was really groovy! Thanks for the link Mortanius! I didn't intend on listening to the whole thing tonight, but after only a few minutes I found myself so sucked into it that I sat and listened to it all.
Our Mr. Emerson certainly has a wonderful voice.

I've added "Murder Mysteries" to the Other Works section of Michael's IMDB page.

Apparently he's in the new Zorro movie. I was planning on seeing it sometime anyway, as it looks silly as hell. All the better.
