**Spoilers, naturally** So it is Ben's tumor! We have a new Ben outfit to discuss, though. The white funeral garb. The whole thing with the video and Juliet...wow. If she's being honest...it's not looking good for Ben. I'm sad about Eko. The "dying whisper" stuff was tacky, but still. Next week's preview...way to get us all on the edge of our seats, Lost.

R.I.P Eko I really don't know what to think of Juliet. Part of me believes her, but the other part of me doesn't. I assumed Ben was the one with the tumor. So I guess the island doesn't heal everyone.

Aw, man Eko leaving sucks. ..I thought when he went nuts with that machete was awesome though, WOAH MAN. Poor Ben <3.. .He was more sad/sincere in this one. I mean he looked really scared. There are a few ways I think this might go down. Juliet is trying to kill off Ben to gain power among the Others. She might be the REAL evil one here. Jack might only find this out after Ben is killed. ;_; Ben will turn things around and be on to Jack and Juliet, possibly kill off Juliet. Ben and Juliet are still testing Jack (My least likley.) Come on Ben! Live through this!

He looked GORGEOUS in the white kurta!
I could live without the tufty chest hair, but he looked hott nonetheless. I bet he smells like coconut and lime.
Ben wants Jack to WANT to cure him. Interesting. Perhaps that's why Juliet is perpetuating this ruse, so Jack can abide by the hippocratic oath as a resolute choice rather than as a result of manipulation.
And what's with the whole Ben being a dangerous liar! He's not dangerous! He's...he's .... misunderstood!! Yeah, that's it. Hmph.
Today's the big day. Michael will be on the big screen in the Ballroom at my university.
Kat Candler is tucked into bed at the Howard Johnson's down the street from me.
I just made a presentation board for "Jumping Off Bridges" for the Storie Productions information table with plenty of pictures of Michael. It was fun to make, like playing with Michael Emerson paper-dolls.
Too bad he's aaaaaaallllllllllll the way in Hawaii. Ah, well.
He'll be with us in spirit. ...dressed in white.

To be true I didn´t like this episode very much - Ben was so sad, insecure, he looked vulnerable in his white shirt, completely caught by surprise when Jack asked about the tumor... so sad and lonely, not in control at all (great when he told Juliet to leave - doctor-patient-confidentiality I hope that he´ll survive (from the previews he seems to have at least one more week ´til Jack has to operate on him)!! Before this episode I always liked Juliet - now I just hope that Jack can see behind her good looks, she´s the truly evil person, certainly trying to gain control). (And by the way - did you read she is going to shoot someone in ep. 9? How many more people does she want to kill? ) ... can´t wait for next week on the one hand but on the other I am truly afraid (but TPTB can´t just kill Ben off now, can they??)...

I don't know if they can kill off Ben.
Michael was overheard saying he would be living in Hawaii for a year, so we have at least till the end of the season (?) to enjoy him.
Before we feel sorry for him, we might wonder how old Ben really is. Could he be 100s of years old like the High Lama in 'Lost Horizon'??
But yeah, I DO FEEL SORRY FOR HIM because ......well, it's him, and I want him to live.
Poor baby needs a good nurse.

I think that Ben and Juliet are playing Jack. The Others are all about deception. Maybe they set this is up as a way to manipulate Jack. They left the x-rays out so he could figure it out. Jack feels like he has one up on the Others, and that can use that to their advantage. Maybe they realized that Jack can't broken in an obvious way, like say Sawyer. I get the feeling that the whole Ben/Juliet interaction with Jack is an act and their real objective has yet to be seen. Just my opinion, no inside info here.

It still feels like a scam to me. Perhaps I am somewhat biased in who I am rooting for here but it still feels a bit like Jack is being played. Everything is being placed in front of Jack in a way to make it like Ben said - that he would want to do the surgery. We know Ben can be possibly a wee bit mysterious and good at telling lies/stories (he did spend last season as Henry Gale, as a matter of point). And we know that he can con people (like Sawyer and his heart). And we still know so very little about Juliet. She could be the best scam artist of all of them. Even the producer's comments that she was brought on as a love interest for Jack could be part of the scam, make people want to trust her. It would bo so wickedly cool if not only are she and Ben still in on this, but if she was evil mastermind behind it all.

That does seem entirely possible—that they're just trying to break him. At the same time, part of me really wants to believe that there's more to the Others, that one of them is a big, evil influence ( for me, I'd prefer that to be Juliet ) and if that problem is solved...there can be a better resolution between the two groups. Maybe that's just what they want us to think. But still...I'm not convinced that every one of the crash survivors is good, and I'm not convinced that every one of the Others is bad. So where does that lead me? Ben has been interpreted by viewers as an evil figure almost since his introduction. Juliet has been...relatively okay to Jack. It makes you wonder if things are going to be switched around.

I hope they don't kill Ben off. amidala64, I hope that you are correct that Michael is on the island for at least 1 year. That would mean that they are just teasing us about Ben dying. Also, I wrote about my opinion on all this killing off of LOST characters and I made a poster based on that. If you are interested you may read the post here: spicedogs-lost.livejournal.com/19733.htmlAnd the poster can be viewed here: spicedogs-lost.livejournal.com/20988.html If you care to comment, you may do so, I accept anonymous replies.

Hm, I really don´t think it´s an elaborate plan that Juliet and Ben thought of together. What´s the point? To verbalize the idea that Jack could kill Ben with no effort? To remember Jack of his oath and conscience? ... But I also heard that Michael´s still in Hawaii and they are at least filming ep. 9 - so there´s hope (it seems like the operation starts next week although they´ll perhaps wait til next year with showing us the outcome). Long live Benjamin Linus

Is Eko really gone? Oh God, that was sad. I don't want him to go! I'm depressed now. And for that Julliette thing... I think Ben told her to do that video and show it to Jack... and this will test Jack's fate, whether he really is a good man, or not. Ben is willing to sacrifice himself! I felt sorry for Ben when Jack told him that he knew about the tumor. He was gonna cry! I was gonna cry! I felt his pain.

Personally, I think Julliet just wants Ben dead so she can rule over the others. She obviously does want some power, and I guess what Ben gives her isn't enough. So, even though I did like Julliet, with the whole I can't cook thing, I'm starting to really dislike her, putting our poor Ben in trouble! I really hope this is all a farce, and Ben will be okay.
