So Carrie is filming True Blood right now which is a new series for HBO based on Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire books which are brilliant. According to interviews Michael is spending the summer with her while she is filming. Carrie plays Arlene a friend and co-worker of the main character Sookie. When I wrote Carrie a few months ago I told her how excited I was about this project and she wrote back telling me to keep an eye out for it and that the wig she wears is quite the disguise. Here is a clip from the show. See if you can spot Carrie. Warning - Mature Content.www.youtube.com/watch?v=A06wk-ALols&feature=relatedI was actually shocked when she came on because I didn't even recognize her! True Blood is slated to come out in September.

Woah! I wonder how Michael feels about her playing this part! Kind of racy.

Great link! I didn't recognize her either, but I love her accent. I'm hooked on the books now (thanks Mel!) and can't wait to watch this. Would love to see ME play Stan.

However, by watching this clip, I now know that I am NOT watching this show.

Yep, she is the red head and she plays her perfectly. I love how they seem to be staying true to the books.

(I'm going to put a little "mature content" warning above the link in the first post so people know what to expect.) I recognized her right away. But then, I was narrowing it down as I watched. "Okay, she's not the black dude. Not the first girl. Bang- she's the second one." Her first words are, "Do you even know what's...."
Very different character for her. Not going to be everyone's cup of tea! I'd watch it if I got HBO....maybe I'll get it from NetFlix when it comes out on DVD. I don't know much about the plot, so I'm not sure I'd actually like the show, but I don't mind the crude stuff so I'd check it out to support Carrie.

I won't watch it because I truly don't like anything about vampires. The crude stuff doesn't bother me, but I think HBO is pushing the buttons and the the Networks follow suit. Having lots of children in my family, I know how this competition is making it very difficult to watch shows with the younger set.

I thought Carrie was much prettier in "Ready? Ok!"
I might watch it because I love Anna Paquin, esp. as Rogue in X-men, and her character seems very innocent and cutesy.

I didn't recognize at all too. She's very different!!! Do you think that Michael likes her change? But, of course, the plot is the plot...

I'll watch if I can remember to. I thought I had read she was only in a few eps. But maybe she did a Michael and got herself hired on as a regular. That would be good. I think. This is by the same guy who did "American Beauty," and I saw that film four times. Vampires. Depends on if they're talking the mythical vampires or the real vampire cults.

I really don't care for either vampires. It's not that I am prude or anything, it's just not my cup of blood tea.

I wonder why we like so much to see Michael with blood in his face...perhaps we are a little vampires...you'll never know... ;D

I couldn't watch the clip - has been removed for copyright reasons. I'm curious about the show, although the names of the characters scare me a bit about the writing. I have a friend who did some research into vampire writing recently, and she said the books for this series are pretty good. i'll give almost any vampire show a chance because when I was a small child, I thought vampires were misunderstood. I couldn't understand why everyone hated them for being hungry - seemed the same to me as humans killing and eating cows, but a lot less messy. I know... I know - I was a kid.
Anyway, I don't have HBO, so I'll have to wait until the show comes out on DVD. I wish I could watch the show as it aired - I'd like to support Ms. Preston.
