Today's the day we've been waiting for for the last two months- especially since there's been little else to look forward to that's this close to happening. For all the Emmy and Michael buzz tonight, this is the thread to post all the comments, celebrating, or crying, depending on what happens. The red carpet arrivals start coming in at around 6 pm Eastern, so stake out E! and the TV Guide channel at that time to try and find Michael and Carrie walking down the red carpet.

The Emmys aren't all entirely about Michael, as some of us may know. I have other Emmy categories that I'm invested in. Problem is, most of the people and shows I've rooted for at the Emmys in the last two years have lost. But here's what I'll be rooting for and rooting against tonight. Supporting Actor DramaRooting for: Michael Nominee I would be the least angry at if he stole Michael’s Emmy: Zeljko Ivanek. He reminds me a lot of Michael- a fellow character actor and occasional theater performer who did a lot of guest star spots playing villains[including on Lost] then made a mark on a hit show with a part that started out evil, then became increasingly complex and tragic. Sounds a bit familiar, except that Ivanek's character on Damages had a shorter shelf life than Ben did, and he had a come-and-go Southern accent. Ivanek does have a submission tape that's just a hair away from being as good as Michael's. But he's not as well known as the other nominees, so that's a big strike against him. Nominee I would be most angry at for stealing Michael's Emmy: William Shatner- he already stole Terry's Emmy in 2005 for Walkabout. Ted Danson's second- he's great on Damages, but he has his Emmys already. I'm neutral on John Slattery. Supporting Actress ComedyRooting for: Kristen Chenoweth, Amy Poehler Supporting Actor ComedyRooting for: Rainn Wilson Actively rooting against: Jeremy Piven Variety CategoriesRooting for: Stephen Colbert Best Actor DramaRooting for: Hugh Laurie, Michael C Hall, Jon Hamm, Gabriel Byrne Actively rooting against: James Spader Best Actress DramaRooting for: Glenn Close Best Actor ComedyRooting for: Steve Carell, Alec Baldwin, Lee Pace Actively rooting against: Tony Shalhoub, Charlie Sheen Best Actress ComedyRooting for: Tina Fey Best ComedyRooting for: The Office, 30 Rock Best DramaRooting for: Lost Least objectionable alternatives: Mad Men, Damages, Dexter, House- all the shows except Boston Legal, the only one of these nominees I don’t watch.

Oooh I wonder if Michael is getting nervous? I am LOL
I agree Bobdoc, if it has to go to someone else, I would like to see Zeljko Ivanek get it. If it goes to either Danson or Shatner, then there is no doubt in my mind that this voting is based on politics and who you are not how much you actually deserve the thing

Chillin' my champagne at the moment!! Hrmm...Best Actor, Drama is really tough. I adore House AND Dexter, but I'm not terribly pleased with season 4 of House. It got a little out of hand, and maybe should have ended with S3. But Hugh Laurie still rocks, no matter what. Hrmmmm. That's an impossible choice. I agree with Bobdoc about William Shatner. If he wins over Michael I will lose every ounce of respect for the Emmy voters that I ever managed to muster up (which isn't very much, eactually...).

Awwww I really want to help Michael get ready for his big day. Carrie is SUCH a lucky woman. But, since Michael is already taken, Foxy has agreed to be my date for the Emmys.

Go, Michael, go!!! For people in Spain: the channel is Set en Veo (trough TDT System), but the problem is the schedule: the ceremony start at 02 a.m., very, very late. But Michael is Michael!!!
