A rat??? That's HORRID!! My friends think it's a little weird that I'm attracted to Michael, but when I tell them how kind and funny he is in reality they understand a bit more. Besides, everyone I know has at least one fairly odd crush, so they can't talk!! Don't listen to your dad. That's just mean!!!  |

None of my RL friends watch Lost so they don't know what I'm talking about.  My mum has to put up with most of my Lost rambling, so she vaguely knows who Ben is and thinks his voice is creepy but he's not especially creepy looking. (I asked :-P) |

Well, to be honest, if I just saw him and had never watched him act or open his mouth, I'd probably think the guy's a dweeb, but he did open his mouth and he does act (and how), and that changes the whole picture. Something in his core being just dispels any msg the outside pkg might send. I know guys and women who are dweebs and their behavior and speech just confirm it, but with Michael it's different. Most other people I know who've seen him have said he's unusual or different; one person thinks he's great.

None of my friends really know who he is (they're much more interested in following High School Musical and Zac Efron etc  :  so they don't really care or have that much of an opinion. My brother on the other hand thinks he looks freakishly weird |

My friends knew long ago better than to question my older man love. Plus, most times they've got me with guys my age its ended and they've had to drag me out of depression. They accept it now

Most of the people I know are Michael-holics. Granted, those people are mainly you guys, but that counts for something.

When I've told people he's from Iowa (a lot of my family's in Iowa) that changes their opinion dramatically. A little home state pride going on.

My family knows that I like Lost and Michael too and they thinks that it's OK, like people who likes opera divas, rock singers or something like that. But, as you know (I'm sure), I'm not all day with this issue, it's only one of my hobbies among of others. Sure, I'm not the "perfect fan"...

Actually, you are, Silvia. Michael himself has always said he hoped his fans had a life of their own and interests of their own. It's a healthy thing.
