LS[Lost spoilers]: Let’s start with some of the basic questions: Do you watch Lost?

FC[Francois Chau]: I did not watch it regularly in the beginning, but I do now. It’s hard to enjoy sometimes because I know what’s going to happen.

When you auditioned, who exactly were you auditioning for? Dr. Marvin Candle? Dr. Mark Wickmund? Man from orientation film?

I auditioned for the character of “Dr. Marvin Candle”. The other alias came later.

Why do you think your character’s aliases all refer to candles? (candle, wick, wax)

I think the writers are just having some fun, but it’s “Lost” so I could be wrong.

In the latest finale episode, Locke was watching the Orchid orientation video when it suddenly started rewinding. Was there any more of the video filmed, or were we shown everything?

The Orchid video you saw was all that was filmed at the time, but it is supposed to be 1 of 3 orientation films for the Orchid Station, so you might see some more later.

The producers have said that season 5 will focus more on the Dharma Initiative. Do you know when we might see your character again? Were you told anything in advance?

I am told that we will see a little more of “Dr. Candle” in season 5. How much more, I don’t know.

In the beginning of the video there is a baby crying off screen. Do you happen to know who this child is? Could it be your character’s son? Is it someone we already know? Some fans have been speculating that it could be Miles.

Yes, I know who the “crying baby” is, but you will have to keep on speculating for a while longer because I can’t say just yet. Sorry.

In the video, your character still has both of his arms, but it seems that he knows that he will lose one of them soon. Do you know how it happened? It could not have been in the purge, because he said he died in the purge, and we’ve seen him alive with a fake left arm.

I was only following the directions in the script about the arm. I don’t know anymore.

Can you tell us who this source is? Is it the voice behind the camera?

The “credible” source of Pierre Chang’s info is from the voice behind the camera, but I can’t tell you who it is.

Can you tell us how this video will play into the future of the show? Could this mean that we will see more of your character?

According to our trusty "Super Sock," (Who did furnish some of the ultra awesome and thoroughly accurate asterix quizzes) "Because You Left" deals with several of the Oceanic Six coming to grips with their need to return to the island... on their own terms. If true, this means season five will get right down to it and do away with the issues of Jack 'convincing' Kate to return right off the bat.

In this sense the statement "Because You Left" deals with not a specific set of circumstances, but multiple character's circumstances. Woot.

Here's a neat little "Lost" prop search Dark UFO found out about at spoilerslost.blogspot.com/2008/08/lost-producers-looking-for-large-prop.html

The Lost producers are looking for two ships, both need to be seaworthy. The main one they wanted was a big black ominous looking ship, but the ship company didn't have anything that was even remotely similar to what they described. However, they booked another ship and it's going to be a chase ship which goes after the big black one.

The chase ship is the oldest ship in the marina and it looks like it's from the 1500's. Do you know why they would want boats that looked to be several hundred years old?

There is one ship in the Lost universe that could fit that description....

Well, this should be interesting.

Michelle Rodriguez, arguably one of the more polarizing personalities to have ever gotten Lost, is returning to the show this season, multiple sources confirm to me exclusively.

Details of her comeback are, not surprisingly, shrouded in secrecy, but here's what I can tell you:

• Rodriguez is back for one episode, most likely this season's second. As a result, the risk to Hawaii's roadways is said to be minimal.

• Given that Ana Lucia's bullet-riddled body is probably entering the final stage of decomposition, conventional Lost wisdom (if there is such a thing) points to her appearing in someone's flashback or via hallucination. The fact that Cheech Marin is also on the guest list for eppy 2 suggests that it's most likely a Hurley-centric outing. And after his encounter with Charlie's ghost last season, it's certainly feasible that Hurley would have an imaginary run-in with Ana Lucia. There's also this theory, put forth by EW's own Doc Jensen: "Maybe Ana Lucia busted L.A.-based Ghost Hustler Miles during her pre-crash LAPD days, and now the freighter folkster is seeing visions of the late Tailie on the Island!"

• Rodriguez's return follows last season's "resurrection" of fellow doomed Tailie Cynthia Watros (Libby), who appeared in a vision to Michael. Could Mr. Eko be next, thus completing, as Jensen jests, the "Busted Tailie Story Line Redemption Tour"?

But let's not get ahead of ourselves -- first we've got to process this M.R. news, and that means posing the following question to Lost fans: Are you looking forward to seeing Ana Lucia again, even if for just a brief stint? Or would you have preferred that she remain dead and buried alongside Paolo and Nikki? Sound off below!

Her name isn't exactly a household one, but something tells me that's all about to change.

In what reps the first major piece of casting for Lost's fifth season, sources confirm to me exclusively that Zuleikha Robinson has been tapped to play the pivotal role of Ilana.

Couple things: Before you ask, it's pronounced Zoo-Lika. And she's done stuff. Some high-profile stuff. Like Fox's short-lived New Amsterdam, where she played Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's partner in crime. Prior to that, the London-born actress slaved away as Gaia on HBO's Rome and, in her first big break, had a regular gig on another ill-fated Fox drama, the X-Files spin-off The Lone Gunmen.

Robinson's Lost deal calls for her to start off as a recurring player with an option to become a series regular in season 6 (a.k.a. the farewell season).

As I first reported last month, Ilana is described as a European female who possesses great intelligence but who's also dangerous as all get out. She's alluring and apparently used to getting her own way.

At the time, EW's Doc Jensen mused that Ilana "sounds exactly like the kind of lethal lady Sayid would fall for. So I’m wondering if the dashing Iraqi is due for a new love interest, yet another lady whose true motivations will be in question."

Team Darlton's not commenting on Doc's theory, or Robinson's casting for that matter (this radio-silence thing is going to be the death of me!), so I guess we'll just have to wait until the new season kicks off in (ugh) five long months to see if he's right.

OK it's great that they're great some fresh intrigue, but I thought there already was enough intrigue and mystery. It had better mesh nicely with the plot or else it's just going to look like they threw fresh meat onto the soup to make it go farther.

Matt: Though the cancelation of Cane certainly freed him up — and the Lost bosses have been clear about their big plans for the time-traveling, never-aging Mr. Alpert — "series regular" status still eludes Carbonell. Even so, a spy tells me we will see Richard very early in the new season... and often. As for your Locke's Daddy theory, that was a new one to the few moles I ran it by.

Hungry for an appetizer of Lost scoop as you impatiently starve for the start of season 5, which bows in early ’09? Then feast on this: Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof tell EW they’ve just completed casting of two major new characters joining their saga next year.

Last week, Michael Ausiello reported the addition of New Amsterdam alum Zuleikha Robinson. This week, we’d like to introduce you to Saïd Taghmaoui, a French thesp most recently seen in the Don Cheadle thriller Traitor. He’ll play Caesar, a mystery man who... um... well, that’s all we got. But the producers say the actor’s skill set fits the part. “He has an innate intelligence, intensity, and danger we really responded to,” says Lindelof, who declined to specify whether Caesar is good or bad, though he did tease that the character will be playing “an important part of the setup for the final act of the show in season 6." He also confirms that Robinson’s Ilana is associated with Caesar, and Cuse likens her to Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight. “There was something very unsettling about the way the Joker kept telling different stories about his background -- something very similar to what we had planned for Ilana,” he says.

Look for a delayed introduction for the duo, beginning with an intriguing set-up followed by a gradual increase in screen time that won't detract from established faves, much like how season 4’s newbies, the Freighter Folk (Jeremy Davies, Rebecca Mader, Ken Leung, Jeff Fahey), were worked into the mix. (The producers say we’ll be seeing more of the FF next year, too — even Fahey, last seen escaping the Island with the Oceanic 6).

FYI: Zuleikha rhymes with You-Like-A, while Saïd sounds just like Lost’s own Sayid. In fact, Taghmaoui also played — get this — the Iraqi soldier who tortured Mark Wahlberg in Three Kings. Should theorists be looking for hidden meaning in this seemingly coincidental linkage? “No,” says Lindelof. “Just... no.” Oh, okay. But how about the theory that Smokey is... [Click] Hello? Hello?!

Thanks to my contact "twilight", we can confirm that Sterling Beaumon, who played young Ben in "The Man Behind the Curtain", will be reprising his role again in Season 5. No details yet as to which episode he will be appearing in. I assume this also mean that we will get to see Annie again during this episode/flashback.

This is the first Season 5 spoiler I've heard about Ben at all since they came back. Normally, I'd think this would mean we'd get a Ben flashback sometime in the first half of Season Five. But since there doesn't appear to be any set direction of how flashes will go this season, who knows how this might go?

At the Entertainment Weekly/Revlon pre-Emmy party in Beverly Hills, Daniel Dae Kim spilled a little tidbit about the "very bad things" that supposedly happened to the Left Behinds after the Oceanic Six were rescued: "There are definitely consequences to moving the Island. There are some that will pay a heavy price. Some people will suffer physically, some will suffer psychologically..." And at the HBO Luxury Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel, Jorge Garcia dished that when he got the first scripts for season five he was "shocked" and that Hurley has some big changes in store this season...
