i thought it would be a great idea to rate each epi on a scale of 1-5. ;D As for me i gave it a 2 because i really didn't like this epi, and it's not because Ben was not in it! i would definitely say that this epi is a "filler" episode because nothing really happened and it was just there to be a setup for the next episode, Enter 77. I usually like Hurley episodes, but this one was kinda boring. all he does is drink really old Dharma beer, fix and ride around in that Dharma car, and try to get away from the cursed numbers.

I would call this episode "light and airy". It was nice to see the big guy smile again. When he got the van started and he was driving it around, that was just great to see. A feel good moment. He needs more of them.
As for rating this ep, I would rate it above "meh" and below "awesome".
Nice to see the big guy getting some help too. Just a nice feel good episode that we haven't had in a long time.
Sorry to all you action-packed-adrenaline-running-every-second-of-the-hour types, but I kind of enjoyed this episode. ;D
Could have been a bit better, but enjoyable none the less.

i would definitely say that this epi is a "filler" episode because nothing really happened and it It's not one I will be watching over and over with my finger poised over the pause button but I think it was necessary. It was just there to be a setup for the next episode, Enter 77. I usually like Hurley episodes, but this one was kinda boring. all he does is drink really old Dharma beer, fix and ride around in that Dharma car, and try to get away from the cursed numbers. I thought this episode was filler only in the sense that it fills in some of the holes those fast paced episodes tend to leave. Sawyer and Kate needed to come home. We needed to see how Charlie was going to react to Desmond's news. Sawyer needed to deal with his disappointment that Kate's "act of love" might only have been pity sex. Both Charlie and Hurley feel they are victims of fate. They feel powerless to stop what is happening to them. At least temporarily in this episode both of them beat their fate which gives them hope that in the long run they will be able to do so too. I think it also foreshadows Desmond beating his fate. Fate seems to have gotten the upper hand lately in this study of free will versus determinism we call Lost. The story (as a whole) needed an infusion of hope. I loved the ending montage. It was the first really joyful scene in a long time on Lost. It was a solid episode on which to launch Enter 77 and the rescue group finding Otherville. Something major is in the works. The Others can't let Locke, Kate and Sayid go once they know where they live. I don't think the Others can get off island now and I bet the Losties and Ben's Others will join forces against something.

Maeve, you may be right! Wouldn't that be something if the Losties and the Others joined forces? Jeebus!

It was a good episode but not the best. I think that Hurley and charlie got what they needed and it felt good to see that! It made me sad when hurley was talking to Libby's grave. I teared up. I just can't believe they GOT A CAR NOW! How cool is that!? Woo hooo....dude!

OK, it wasn't one of those OMG eps, and the song they used, I couldn't stand it back when it wa popular, but somehow it works in this ep. And sadly, it was running through my mind all day. 18 inches of snow and I'm thinking about a hippie song on a tropical island and a stoner VW van. Not bad. not bad for a lame ep.
