Hi everyone,
My name's Aubra, I'm 23, and I'm very happy to have found this site. Everyone seems really friendly, and it will be nice to have a place to indulge my Ben Linus/Michael Emerson ruminations (aside from in conversation with my best friend, who is also a huge Lost fan, and kind of aspires to be Ben Linus!).
I'm currently living in the Denver area, and have spent the past year and a half or so trading my soul for a Master's degree (done in June, whoo!). I'm studying forensic psychology in a clinical context, and I've always been interested in understanding the darker side of humanity and the commonalities we all share in spite of the deviant acts some us commit. This is what first piqued my interest in Ben Linus. He both embodies the traits that I see as strengths in others (committed, hard-working, intelligent, has his stuff together, articulate, kind and conscientious in his own unique way, etc etc) and has this desperate and damaged dynamic that I find really intriguing. The moments where he loses his carefully crafted persona and is just hugely emotionally reactive are some of my favorites. I also enjoy the subtle charm and manipulation, because I think people who have the proclivity to be somewhat evil are fun. Also, I'm a sucker for a smirk.
Needless to say, after season four, I was hooked on Ben Linus. I searched out some of Michael Emerson's other work and really can't say enough about how richly talented he is. So here I am.
I look forward to exploring this board and getting to know you guys!
