That sounds great to me, Kate is finally doing something important! (Even if it sounds that she is running again after babies/children, but this time she has focused to take care of young Ben)!

But if she has to care for young Ben, that probably means that most of this young Ben arc is likely about the 1977 survivors debating whether to kill little Ben and change their futures- a la the "Go back and kill Hitler" idea Dr. Chang dismissed in the season's opening scene. That probably explains the "Whatever Happened, Happened" title as reference to Daniel's theory that time can't be changed like that. But it serves as a handy-dandy answer as to why Ben turned "evil" - it was all the survivors fault in 1977 somehow. That seems to be where we're going.

Oh, I hope it's not going to be that simple and boring, I mean this dead-tired love quadrangle fighting against each other ("motherly" women against "warrior" men) about the issue whether to kill or save young Ben. Even the thought of this makes me yawn. -Unless little Ben get an idea and blow up the whole gang using the hydrogen bomb! ;D ....Or run away to Richard.
