Michael on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight!

Oh, I don't think he was actually making fun or that it was intended as serious criticism. After a newspaper paid him money and published the art, so it had to meet a certain standard of acceptability. And it is an illustration, much different that a work of art proper. It was great to see the artwork. It does contain some element of Michael's character or personality, I thought.

I thought Jimmy was absolutely fawning all over Michael. I don't know how much of that is hype to promote the show or how much of it was legitimate enthusiasm, but I think he really was fascinated. Good to see Michael always. He's the best.

I rarely watch late night talk, but because I had the day off I saw Leno and Fallon. Each had on a young starlet in her early to mid-20s, and I'm sure their fans were just delighted as all get out to see them, but these women are so young, inexperienced and playing up their naiveté so much that it was a bit excruciating to watch. Give them each 10 or 15 years and we'll see a thinking, interesting adult. Michael is in his mid-50s. That gives a person some experience and depth. He's been through so much, and he has so much intelligence and people smarts, I doubt he would ever run out of things to talk about and lack the ability to make it interesting.
