from MSNBC.. Spoiler: The truth behind ‘Lost’ Charlie mystery Dominic Monaghan isn’t returning to ‘Lost,’ but he is returning to ABC
How very sneaky of you, ABC.
I just found out why Dominic Monaghan is appearing in ABC’s new promo campaign, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with Charlie being resurrected on “Lost” next season. But that’s exactly what the network wants folks to think. Why? Because they’re trying to keep under wraps the real reason he was playing table soccer with Patrick Dempsey, Courteney Cox and Ed O’Neill in that clip.
This is the part where I warn you of an incoming spoiler and give you one last chance to bail before continuing on... Okay, here it goes: The real reason Monaghan is featured in that cheeky spot is because he’s actually joining the cast of another hour-long ABC drama series as a full-time series regular. And the net’s brass want it to be a surprise.

If Charlie's not coming back, then that's a strike against the theory that Jack will actually change the future and everyone will be back at LAX to start S6- including the dead characters like Charlie.

If that's the case, I'm curious why Hurley has been carrying Charlie's guitar.

IGN figured out which new series Dominic may be a part of- and it's one that already has a Lost veteran in it. From tv.ign.com/articles/992/992341p1.htmlLast Friday, there was quite a lot of Internet chatter over a new ABC promo, featuring stars from several of the network's 2009-2010 season shows, including Patrick Dempsey (Grey's Anatomy), Courteney Cox (Cougar Town), Ed O'Neill (Modern Family) and… Dominic Monaghan?
Monaghan's presence caused a lot of confusion and speculation, because he's been gone from Lost for quite awhile. Add in him responding with, "I was" in the promo, when asked if he was dead, and many wondered if we were to take from this that Charlie was returning to Lost.
As it turned out, EW.com's Michael Ausiello discovered that rather than returning to Lost, the promo instead was referring to Monaghan's role on a new ABC series. Of course ABC has a rather notable ten new scripted series for next season, meaning there were a lot of possibilities as to what show Monaghan would be part of.
IGN has now learned what show Monaghan may be on and that it's one we already were quite intrigued by - Flash Forward.
Like others (including in our comments), we had thought Flash Forward seemed like a very strong candidate for Monaghan's secret show. Created by Brannon Braga and David Goyer, the high concept series is being positioned by ABC as something of a spiritual follow up to Lost and it's one of two geek-friendly series -- the other being the remake of V -- that would most mesh with the Lost fanbase Monaghan brings with him. Sources in the know regarding Monaghan's situation now tell IGN that indeed seems to be the case, and Monaghan will likely have a major role on Flash Forward.
We contacted ABC about Monaghan for an official response, and a spokesperson told us, "There is a lot of speculation out there right now, but we're not confirming any casting at this point."
Based on the novel by Robert J. Sawyer, Flash Forward's cast includes Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love), John Cho (Harold & Kumar / Star Trek), Sonya Walger (Penny on Lost) and Jack Davenport (the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy). The story follows what happens when a global event causes everyone on Earth to black out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds. The populace awakens to discover the many tragedies that occurred as a result of the phenomenon, while also infused with visions of their own future.
Flash Forward will air Thursdays at 8:00pm ET/PT on ABC this fall.

Not to mention that ABC also has a new series "V" with Juliet[Elizabeth Mitchell]this midseason. 2009-10 really does have ABC going all out to milk Lost one final time.

OMG you're absolutely right!!! I forgot to mention it yesterday... or maybe ABC and Darlton Lindencuse are saying that in order to confused our already confused minds... or maybe it's true and what bobdoc said is right.. but what if it's just a trick?!?!?! but what if it's not... i think i'm loosin it, you guys...

Future Charlie speculation came from Watch With Kristen's latest spoiler chat, at www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b129288_spoiler_chat_will_lost_bring_dominic.htmlCynthia in Ireland: I was so happy to hear about Charlie, Shannon and Claire returning to Lost next season, and then so bummed to find out that nothing except Claire is for sure yet. What's the current status of various dead castmembers returning to Lost? Even though Dominic Monaghan is said to be appearing on another ABC show next season, reportedly Flash Forward, we're just paranoid enough to think it might be a double cross, and that D.M. might actually be heading back to Lost after (or in addition to) whatever else he does on the Alphabet Net. Why do we think this? Because very reliable sources now tell us that there is "mutual interest" (between the Lost PTB and Dominic Monaghan) in bringing about a season-six return visit by Charlie Pace. Look for official developments in the next week or two.
