I had this thought this morning and figured it might make an interesting new topic. What roles would you NOT wish to see Michael in?The first one that sprang to mind was Humbert Humbert in a remake of Nabokov's "Lolita." Um, yuck! " She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita. Light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo... Lee... Ta. " >>CRINGE<<

I wouldn't like to see him in Camp Rock.
Nor would I like to see him in a porn film.

I agree, Silvia. Something romantic, not crass would be wonderful. I don't think I'd like to see him in a western, considering his dislike of dealing with and riding horses. LOL I also don't want to see him as a serial killer again, even though he owns such roles. No typecasting the man.

Yes, I can't imagine him in a western... I think that "typecasting" as you have written, it's a risk, a dangerous risk for actors/actresses. Michael has so succes with this kind of roles...I'm sure that he can do everything, but what about directors? Or producers? They trust in a change? We don't know it.

You're so right, Silvia. Michael has actually spoken about his concern with directors and producers taking the easy road and going with what they've seen him in. He says he's sure he'll be flooded with offers for such roles when Lost ends and that he will need to weed through them carefully to keep from getting stuck with the villain role forever. Another, more along the Shakespeare line: I wouldn't want to see him as Shylock in Merchant of Venice--though I'm sure he'd devour the role. I'd much rather him as Petruchio! Now THAT would be hilarious fun! ;D

I am sure that he will weed through the roles more carefully now that he does not need to accept a gig so badly for either money or recognition and make sure to accept a juicy comedic role.

I agree, Edith. He's smart enough to know which ones to pick. I just worry he won't be offered something stupendous, like a film remake of Taming of the Shrew. Can you imagine him as the drunken, conning, irreverent Petruchio!? OMG Another good role is Benedict in "Much Ado About Nothing." Very humorous role. A romantic one, too, like Petruchio.

Or a role like Sean Connery in The Name of The Rose...a wise monk.. But this thread is for another issue!!! Nor would I like to see him as a policeman or sofisticated investigator (like Grishom in CSI), too much typical.

I think Michael is a really good actor, so any kind of role whether it be the villian, the victim, the hero or the looser, he could do so easily, but I don't think I would want to see him in anything cheesey or kiddy - like Belle mentioned 'Camp Rock' so cross out all the crappy and tacky 'High School Musical' style films or anything of similar tack. Lol, it's funny, I can think of more examples of the type of films I'd like to see him in rather then not.

I would hate to see him as a character like Edward from Twilight - that would be a waste of talent (sorry Edward fans out there)
