His name means "supplanter"! Dictionary definition of supplant: 1.to take the place of (another), as through force, scheming, strategy, or the like. 2.to replace (one thing) by something else. So, I'm guessing MiB was at first the ruler, but then Jacob forced himself ruler somehow? What do you think??

The much talked about Bible story between Jacob and Esau, which is being used as the top theory on who these two are, says that Esau/MIB gave away his birthright to Jacob, setting off their battles. So that may be where the meaning comes from.

What's a birthright?
As my group leader would now say: "Dear Dumb ..."

In the context of the story, a birthright is the right to be known as the first born son, which was a very powerful honor in those days.

Yeah, this is fitting. And the theory posted by Matt on Dark UFO also suggests that they are engaged in a closed loop of struggle, and there can be no end to it unless someone finds a loophole. Well, I like it because it supports my theory that Jacob isn't the hero here. The fact that he's named that and that the TPTB have acknowledge biblical stories as factoring in, along with other ancient mythologies.
