"I'm surprised I d.... I don't know what's gonna happen" then he laughs... does that mean "I'm surprised I DIE"?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! And if he dies he better comes back lol (writers would make a HUGE mistake to kill him early in the show and not use Ben -alive or ghost or whatever -until the very end of Lost)

There's no way he meant to say die- he probably was starting to say don't, then stuttered and laughed about how much he didn't know. If Ben ever does die, I don't quite believe it would shock Michael anyway. He expects a lot of death in S6, and likely knows full well how vulnerable Ben could be. Besides, when he talked to them, they had just started filming S6, and judging from reports I've read at Dark UFO, he's still been filming since then. I won't go any further than that, for spoilerphobes out there.
The actors never get any details about anything until they get the script- including when they die. So if they didn't film his death, or weren't about to film it, before that interview- and I'm 99.99999% certain they didn't - then there's no way he got told in advance that he'd die before then. Therefore, I'm sure that Ben was still alive on the day of that interview.
