Virginal Ben

I don't know.. the signs are all there but then I remember of little Annie girl. My theory is that something happened between the two of them, maybe something even involving a never born son and that would explain Ben's obsession about women dying on the island, pregnancy and miscarriages. This IMHO, of course. I remember reading a very interesting post in this board by Mrs Dean Moriarty about Ben being a beta male. I guess she was right, that would explain a lot of Ben's awkward behaviour around women. I remember Michael saying that Ben is emotionally undernourished and that is what I have ever thought of Ben. And this is the reason why I am so drawn to him!

Thanks for responding guys, I thought there'd be more replies but there we are. Yes I do wonder about Annie, what happened to her? Ben wouldn't have gassed her! ( as a side note -it always strikes me how very human the gesture of Ben closing dead Horace's eyes is, he was one of the few people who treated Ben properly as a child though that wasn't enough to spare his life...but I digress.) I hope we'll discover what happened to Annie before the end, she seems very important to Ben and could reveal a lot about him.

I wonder why this thread was moved. Ben Linus is not a real person but just a character (In LOST, btw), a character with evident relationship issues which some of us were trying to figure out. Nothing to do with Michael Emerson as an actor or a man. Virgin is not as bad word or a morbid concept and every comment was written in a serious tone. Nothing to do with craziness. Please, tell me what I am missing. Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to explain.

I personally don't think Ben is a virgin. Admittedly I don't think he's been in a well functioning adult relationship with a woman- most likely due to his past, but to me there is a big difference between that and being celibate. For example, ben is an extremely well educated and wealthy man off island- these are traits that make him very attractive to a lot of women. He doesn't need to have fully funcional social/ relationship skills to hve a one night stand with someone, plus there is also the option of hiring someone for their services of an evening.

I also got the impression something was between both he and harper and himself and colleen- more "just sex" than a proper relationship. As for the annie thing, I'm not sure- I think he loved her probably in a friendship way as she really was the only one who was nice to him. I'm not sure she survived long enough for them to be old enough to have a relationship that developed past friendship. Hopefully we will find out more

At times Ben appears to have the potenatil to be a very passionate lover, can't put my finger on exactly what I mean but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at. Then he seems very uptight and I always go back to the "hug" bewteen him a Juliet when he froze. Him and Harper? Oh no, she is a b*tch, can't stand the sight of her. Who's Colleen btw?

I'm not saying Ben wouldn't be very attractive to women off the island, hell that's why we're all here right? LOL! I love the fact he is educated, I just ADORE well read men but he is so focused on the island it's like his obsession and he has no time for anything else.

I think it's possible that Ben might have had a relationship with Annie whilst growing up? That's what I'd like to think anyway. We still don't know what happened to her! Argh.
