Hey. I was rewatching 'Dead Is Dead' today and gained a fresh perspective. The first time it aired we didn't know what the hell was going on with Locke and how he was still alive. Now, having learned that he is, infact, the Man In Black, it gives a whole new side to Terry's performance. It's amazing. He was able to become this new character before even knowing who he was and without completely losing the character of John Locke. If you watch the scenes with Jacob and The Man In Black you can see little parts of him, but also parts of the old Locke. Of course the plot takes on a new perspective. I thought Ben was being played by Locke, but he's being double played by The Man In Black which makes me feel even more sorry for him. Well, just thought I'd share that with you guys. ;D

That is true, although even back then we could guess something was wrong with Locke. But the sight of him finally getting confidence and leading Ben around made us so happy for him, we didn't see the truth until it was too late - which was probably the point. But Terry didn't know he was the Man in Black until getting the script for The Incident, just like we didn't know. So that only makes him even more impressive, as he set up the MIB persona without even knowing it, yet he still knew just what to do and add. Of course, S6 is proving that knowing the truth hasn't hurt him either. Since S6 is matching up so closely to S1, it is quite fitting that S6's standout is the same one from S1 - even with a different character. But what about the original....

Yes, I do kind of miss the old Locke. He was very interesting and had his dark moments. Now, Terry is completely inhabited by darkness and, to me, is mesmerizing to watch. Just like Terry gets to play two completely different characters on the same show, so does Michael. He may BE the same charater, but his change is so great people have to do a double take to make sure it's still him. He makes so that it's not impossible to believe that Ben is capable of being good. The talent of all of these actors is really amazing.
