"Everybody Loves Hugo" [Michael's 55'th episode]

Oh wow, that ending was intense! For Desmond to be so caring with Hurley to literally running down Locke, wow! He will go to any lengths to make sure they start to sense the island. I loved the parts with Libby and Hurley. It makes me wish we hadn't lost Libby so soon in the show.

When I was in Hawaii hanging out at the survivor camp I was chatting with the security guard and he told me they had just filmed a big explosion and you could even see the scorch marks on the ground. He told me it was a female character but I wouldn't let him tell me who it was! lol I had a hunch it was going to be Ilana and it was. She should have known better than to get so worked up while holding dynamite. Who else loved Ben's line about being afraid of what will happen to them all when the island is done with them?

One more thing, we found out the whispers are the people who have died on the island and can't leave it because of what they have done. So, does the island act as a cork to other evil besides Smokey? Libby could leave because she didn't do anything evil, but Michael was trapped because he killed Libby and Ana Lucia. Interesting.

Anyone else think that now we know what the whispers are, the zombie season will be about them?

I think when the Others came around, the whispers of the dead souls were trying to warn people to what was coming, but no one could understand them. But the whispers were also heard in moments like Sayid leaving Rosseau's camp in S1, and when young Ben looked for his mother - maybe they were warnings or just gossip.

I'm now on the side of those who think Jacob is a jerk- since he trained Ilana her whole life just to get blown up. He strung her along even worse than Ben or Richard, since he's at least letting them stay alive for now. But maybe since the dead can more easily see the island world in sideways time, perhaps Ilana might still have a part to play there - even though she isn't an 815 passenger and doesn't have a soulmate that we know of.

Michael warned us that there would be a few eps right about now where Ben wouldn't show up. So I would get ready for another long wait until Ben, Richard and Miles come back with their explosive.

Did you expected that Desmond will try to kill John Locke???
Poor Ilana, I liked this caracter...Why the hell Jacob didn't give her immortality, if he really needed her to accomplish her mission? Or why the hell Jacob bring her to the Island, if he knew that she will dying without be capable to accomplish her mission...Or, what was the real mission of Ilana?
It's seems to me that every people/things on this Island are only toys in Jacob's hands.
