OMG, if I get the drift of the sneak peek for the next ep (4-20) right then Locke in Sideways world is MIB or agent of the same. So if that's true, what does that tell us about the pseudo-idyllic world of L.A. X. Yes, we saw some very encouraging glimpses of people finally happy and on a good path, but if this is true, it's all been a sham. Eep. Peace out.

Sun seems to think that sideways Locke is MIB, but she's probably wrong. Whatever her sideways flash is, it is probably just one of the immediate past. Her near death experience likely unlocked that part of her island side, but it didn't unlock the rest of it that would tell her the rest about the real Locke. Remember, everyone's flashes in sideways time just unlocked a part of their island lives - not all of it.

That may be, but the look on Locke's face! If that wasn't a smirk, then there is no such thing.

He could just be having an island flash of his own - as the real Locke - to make him smile. It's getting less and less likely at this point that the real Locke will ever be resurrected on the island, so I have to believe they will have the real one live again as the sideways version after his awakening, and save the day from there. Otherwise, Locke 1.0 really was worth nothing, and that end result would make too many fans mad.

I think that was the point of real Locke. He basically was a mediocre man with dreams of being something great. He brought a lot of pathos and empathy to his position because of his disability but beyond that he didn't have a lot to offer. He only began to make strides when MIB began to assert himself through Locke body. Real Locke crumbled when the pressure got too tough. And maybe that wasn't such a bad thing. After all, Jack getting all hostile and turning crusader/fighter didn't do much to advance the chances for the Lostaways either. In any case off island, real Locke is still ineffectual. He can't get the Losties to go back to the island until he died. And alt-Locke succeeds in getting fired and ending up beholding to Hurley. However, we see some bleed through of the two worlds. Desmond is determined to have alt-Locke killed and that might be only to void Island Locke getting used by MIB.
