Michael Emerson and Carrie Preston will perform for one night onlyby Cameron Jones Michael Emerson of ABC’s Lost and Carrie Preston of HBO’s True Blood are coming to Charleston this summer to perform at the newly reopened Dock Street Theatre. The two, who are married in real life, will be starring in the two-person play Love Letters, written by A.R. Gurney. The July 31 show is a pre-season fundraiser for Charleston Stage. Charleston Stage is hoping to capitalize on the star power of Emerson and Preston, as well as the success of their shows. Lost is one of the most popular shows on television, and the final season, which concludes on Sunday, contains the most discussed and dissected television plots since “Who Shot J.R.?” in 1980. Emerson’s character Dr. Ben Linus has inspired plenty of debate himself and also earned Emerson best supporting actor in 2009. True Blood, HBO’s most-watched series since The Sopranos, will begin its third season in June. Preston plays Arlene Fowler on the hit show. In addition to their current roles, Preston and Emerson have also appeared in other television series as well as in film and on Broadway. Regular seats are $125 and include a pre-show cocktail reception plus the performance. Premium seats, which will also include a post-show reception with the stars, are $150. Sponsor boxes, which include 12 tickets and pre- and post- show receptions, are on sale for $5,000. Purchase tickets at charlestonstage.com. I was really thinking about it.... I was probably going to be in New York at this time but it's a 16 hour drive from NY to SC.... it would take a lot of work to convince my friend to go with me on the 16 hour drive...

I think I am going to do it. They are saying Michael and Carrie are going to be at this after party which is a better chance of meeting them then waiting outside of a play in New York. It is just too good of a chance to pass on it. It is quite expensive though. I am afraid I will be to shy to say hello to them though.

Haha we can try but I think she has her heart set on going to New York and we'd have to chose one or the other... we couldn't go to both NY and SC... This is when I really wish I had a car of my own
