Oh, well, that's just sad. But I guess if you like that show … Why do you consider that sad? I think that is sadder that out in Twitterland there are campaigns to have him join SNL (which, in my opinion, is on the downhill), Torchwood, True Blood, Riddler in the next Batman movies, etc. Many of the dramas shows is just perpetuating his "creepy" character. The character that he said he'd like to hang and do some comedy instead.

I agree with Edith. I would LOVE to see him play something SO different from Benjamin Linus becasue that man has the chops to do so.
Would he be a fantastic Riddler - no doubt. But would it pigeon hole him - DEFINITELY
His comedy is so dry it would fit very well with the "Office".

Now, now, I never said I didn't see him doing comedy. Replacing Carrell would be like being the understudy after the A player was done with it. I would think he would want something that's all his own.
I've also seen all those tweets about being on SNL and playing the Riddler, and I've heard and read his dismissive responses. Although for my money, he could rank up there with Walken on SNL. I don't watch SNL unless someone like Walken is on.

I would think he would want something that's all his own. That's also the same analogy you can use against Michael playing the next Batman villain. In both cases, he would have a lot to live up to, would be following a very popular character who set the bar too high, and would almost be in a no-win scenario. In any case, he is still a long way from making his next career move anyway. Besides, I'd have thought The Office already had their "creepy" quota filled by Dwight Schrute.

Please Bob, I really hope that Michael won't be doing anymore "creepy" characters. I am sure that he, himself, is trying to move away from that image.

I love Michael's creepy characters but would like to see him do something different too. What ever he does next will surely be brilliant. But I don't want him to stay away from playing dark characters.
