I think Edith is right about Michael. When you think of it, as talented as they both are, outside "Dr. Linus," the role of Ben was clearly a secondary one. Fan love elevated it, but he was clearly not one of the main players. But O'Quinn however, really did have a major role, and he did great. A danger statue for a man who played a dangerous character. True but the Emmy is awarded based on the work of a single episode and Dr. Linus was a powerful episode. Voters like to see a range of emotion and Flocke lacked that. Just the scene between Ilana and Ben might be enough to give the Emmy to ME. If TOQ didn't already win in 2008 he might have stood a better chance this year. Has there ever been a tie? TOQ turned in more of a leading man performance. He carried the weight of the show this season. Yeah. Still I was surprised when Lost received so many nominations. Should have received more but the Emmy is biased against serial TV.

Jack is still the main character - which was made evidently clear in the finale - so that probably made Matthew more of the lead. I'm not sure if a show can submit more than one person for the lead category anyway. Besides, the Best Actor category is pretty crowded enough as it is, so Terry got a break in going to supporting.
