I picked up a set of discs at Borders the other day. I haven't been able to find it as a download on iTunes, I think that would be cheaper.
It has a lot information about acting, so I was kind of thinking he could certainly work with that with some authority.
As usual his narration is very good. Still not up to "All The King's Men," IMO, but I think he has the women's voices better on this one.

OK, my take after listening to it. I think the story is OK, but not superb. It covers a wide terrain: English life and boarding schools, Hollywood during the golden age of the Westerns, Montana, Iraq war, there were even bits about space. So it didn't lack for variety.
Of course, the writer (Nicholas Evans) did a great job of dangling the carrot right at the front. And you know you're not going to get the reveal until the very end, but I didn't buy the reveal. It just didn't play well, sure it has parallel context but that still didn't cut it for me.
As for the narration, it was pretty good. Not as solid at "All The Kings Men," and you can definitely tell new recording segments because of a change in energy in Michael's voice. But still Michael does a phenomenal job of creating different characters, inhabiting them and making you believe them. He did well with this, of course, only missing the mark a bit with the main character. He makes him a little too soft. The MC is vulnerable, but I don't think soft.
